I work in New Look!!! Haha 50% discount!

But anyway... 4 dresses? Do you really NEED 4 dresses? You gotta think about it... how about only buy 2 of the dresses instead of all 4? It doesn't matter if you have the money - just because you have the money doesn't mean you need to spend it... Imagine having that money still left next month and what if you see another dress that you love even more??? I think you should buy 2 of the dresses :)

Gradually cutting down is the best way to go.
Let me know how you get on...!

Elle? Would you please be my best friend?

Yep, I think I might do that :) try all the ones I love on, and let my OH pick the best two :) maybe if I look sad enough he will also treat me hehe.

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to check in and let you know that I haven't spent a penny on clothing on this challenge as yet. My £400 budget is intact.

I refuse to make any new purchases until I'm back in my usual size (which is currently 8lbs lighter than I am now).:o

I'm of the same mindset romylou, still have 3lbs to go to get back to my pre-xmas weight. I did see a lovely dress in the Dorothy Perkins sale, but decided to leave it until I lose the weight and now they are all sold out! I'm sure there's a nicer dress out there for me somewhere...

So - ladies of the jourey ... what do I do?

    Do I

A: Buy them - I have the money left from this month so it doesn't really count ;)

B: I have a £12 voucher coming from work - do I use the smallest newlook freebie-voucher i've got and just add £8 to get one of said dresses....

C: Spend the full £68 - and have £22 left for the whole month for clothes etc, which WILL be a struggle.

D: face facts its Winter in the Midlands, and move on :)

I vote for B - Just buy one of the dresses. That way you still get a clothes fix, but have some left for the holy grail of a dress you might see later in the month (and is sure to come along as soon as you have spent your budget!) :D

Still no spends for me, I am feeling quite virtuous...

    Vote now ladies :)

I vote B, or the variation Ellen's suggest of 2 - total denial is only going to cause issues!

My Howies order hasn't arrived yet - and I'm getting impatient!

I'm also stalking a few pairs of Monkee Genes skinnies in the sales - come pay day . . . but no further spends yet . . .

Good evening ladies & gents &

Hello & Welcome to virgoean, runnerbean17 & ellenmelon :hello:
will add you to the loony list in a minute.

Blonde Ambition - yes my boots are exactly like that, & I also turned them over so they were normal knee length which made me feel slightly less self-conscious, although I have worn them up over leggings & long tunic top & cardi so I felt all layered up & dressed for warmth rather than attention :D.

Just go for it & enjoy :)

NGlady2 - I think you 'should try before you buy' & definitely not buy more than 2 of the dresses, sorry to be a bore but it is only january, & we have an awful lot of year left :(

My lovely chemise/slip arrived today, gorgeous raspberry pink colour & comes to just below my butt which is the perfect length as that's the bit that sticks out & causes the unflattering cling & ride

I will be keeping it but have decided to use the last £15 of my gift money to pay for it - which means I'm now just on the CCC Budget & the £25 M&S gift card .

I'm already thinking about what to wear next monday :rotfl: it's great because I now have an added incentive to keep shedding the weight as I'm only wearing about 10% of my clothes :o
  • I vote D) we're still in January - be strong!!
Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend...

  • Haha trust me the discount is not good when you've got a spending habit like me.......!

Lula-Hula just so you can post it on the page - i think my spending budget should be £40 a month so that works out at a £480 budget for the whole year!

Let me know how you get on NGlady2!!!! I've got to brave work tomorrow..... I'm praying we don't have any new clothes in that may tempt me.
Any suggestions on how to resist the urge to buy something that I may see tomorrow and fall in love with?

Can you keep it aside? When I worked in a book shop, we had a staff shelving area where we could keep any books we wanted to buy until the end of the month (or day, or week). I should have always put books there for the month because if they'd been there a while, I either knew I wanted it or I'd fallen out of love with it! Most of the books I bought there and then are still waiting to be read!

It's what I do with clothes now. Hold on to them and carry them around for a while. Or leave the shop without them and see how much I obsess over them.

(Currently I'm obsessing over having my "colours done" to see what properly suits me. Any-one had it done? What did you think?)

Let's not forget about another snappy happy freedom Monday for the clothes trapped in our wardrobe! I have no idea what I'll be wearing yet - will have a look over the weekend and find something

If you must, then do this one and I'm sure you can manage with one dress rather than 4 :rotfl: Afterall you might find something else you like when more SS11 stock comes in a few months time

To be honest I can see on the face of it why the 50% looks so great, but can see how it very quickly adds up. There is some gorgeous spring stuff on the website, wont deny it, but think of something ur saving up for - i dunno £1000 so you can move out? well spend £50 and thats 5% of your moving out fund :)
