My first spend of the year ( a bit earlier than I intended!) £9 on a lovely pale blue top which will be one of my 'can wear anytime, anywhere and everywhere' tops.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Do you have anything quite cheap with a really high cost per wear? (I have some things I've never worn, hence they have an infinite cost per wear!!)
Hi Becky, interesting questions!
I'm not sure what the most expensive thing was, I don't tend to buy designer stuff. It was probably a coat or a pair of leather boots and they are my two wardrobe staples so they get a LOT of wear.
And yes, I do have the odd item I've never worn so the cost per wear is off the scale!Save 12k in 2012: 0/12,000

Toast promenade coat £275 :o (and I have two in different colours) - but worn every day in winter as they go with everything both for work and weekends, and are warm enough to keep me cosy even waiting at the station before dawn! And they are being carefully looked after and dry cleaned so should hopefully last at least 5 years each. So cost per wear much better than cheaper coats which have only really managed one winter looking presentable despite costing £80-90.
Don't like thinking about most expensive cost per wear - still have red long satin dress unworn in wardrobe (£60 in sale) and a couple of £100+ evening dresses only worn twice. Though they still fit and I am not buying any more now, so will hopefully get more exercise eventually!
I have a related question - what's your record saving on original price eg. in sale or charity shop? Mine is about £350 - a silk dress bought from Oxfam for £25 because of a lipstick mark which washed straight out. It still had the tag on with the original £390 price! Pity I can't fit into it any more  :rotfl:

I am so much better these days after a year on this thread(above not my fault anyway) and buy much less as I think hard about whether I need an item,if I already have a similar one and if it will go with other items I own0 -
Hello & welcome to newgirly & theonlynuttytart :hello:
I've added you to the members list on the first page.
Nice to see there's lots of discussion going on, I have spent a fair amount on individual pairs of boots over the years, but the most expensive itme is probably the beautiful silk dress I bought for my sister s wedding a few years ago, had it dry cleaned afterwards & it has not been worn since. I havent had an occasion to wear it & it's too small ... at the moment.
I'm determined to either have worn everything in my wardrobe by the end of the year, or got rid of it. So yes, the crazy lady who looks as though she's on her way to Ascot but is in fact buying cat food is probably me0 -

I hear you! I do go to Swing Dancing nights often so have an opportunity to wear posh dresses, but I have so many that it's difficult to find an opportunity to wear them, at this rate I'll be stopping to the pub in a ball gown each week just to get some wear out of them~Nym~

Can I declare £15 spend please, got a £5 amazon voucher off bingoport and they've got an ed hardy sale, so I spent £15 cash on a t shirt. Naughty but I'm absolutely in love with their clothes.0

I declare a spend of £38.00 for a pair of walking sandals for my camping holiday this year. I've been wishing for a size 6 to come back in stock so I could get them at this out of season price instead of the £74 they will cost in a couple of months time.
So, although this is quite a large chunk of a spend out of the total its better than the £60-74 it might have been if I'd have left it until the sun comes out in March!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Does my wedding dress count?! I'm wearing it twice though so cost per wear is only £255! :rotfl:
I've got a pair of shoes that I had to have but haven't actually managed to leave the house wearing them as they hurt so much! I can't get rid of them though because they're so pretty and I may pluck up the courage to wear them one day!
I had a pair of Camper boots for about 5 years that cost me £135 but I wore them all winter, every winter, for those 5 years. £27 a year isn't too bad, I reckon they worked out at about 40-50p a wear! On the other hand 2 years ago I got another pair of boots for £80 and wore them about 4 times... £20 a wear!
Quite proud of myself, I went on a new jeans hunt the other day and couldn't find any that I liked so I came home and dug out some 2 year old jeans, stuck them in the wash and decided that they'll do perfectly well, thank you very much! So no more spends to report!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
