I've heard that too, but I thought it had to be applied while the red wine stain was still wet. Perhaps I am wrong? Got the white top soaking now but maybe I'll try it on the red one... Anyway, if all these methods fail I'll just have to buy some new clothes! Hardship eh? :rotfl:

Lotti - if its something u wear a lot then i think u could justify a new white vest. Throwing white wine is such a waste ;-)

Roll on new year i really need to come back to this iv made such a bulls of this this year lol

    :hello: everyone,

Back from holibobs and no clothes spends to report as yet... but managed to throw a glass of wine over both a white vest top and a red 3/4 sleeve tee (I was layering, the wine went all the way through. It was literally a brand new, full glass. :( ). Anyone got any tips for removing the stain? I rinsed as much out as I could at the time, but I think they are beyond saving.

So, I suspect I will need a new white vest at least, as I wear it with so much! Or perhaps I can still use it as an underneath layer, as the wine is only over the bottom half... mildly depressing though, walking about covered in old vino! :rotfl:

Lakeland Ltd do a product called wineaway that really does work, comes recommended by my carpet cleaning hubby, pouring good wine after bad does not :D

Lotti - I have also heard that the Dr Beckman's rescue works quite well (coming from a friend who had red wine split on her cream coat). The only thing is that it might just be easier and cheaper in the long run to replace the white vest (depending on where it came from)

ahhh the fun of having to get red wine out of clothes - its always the light coloured ones we tend to spill it on isn't it?

All good rememedies suggested - could always dye it at some point.

Am on my first day of my holiday:j - and have a stinking cold so not a happy bunny.:(

Did go to a country show mid week and it poured down all day - wore wellies sensibly but found out that my tatty waterproof is no longer waterproof - the lining has all come away - have mended it several times but I think I need to upgrade.Plus the walking shoes i wear for work (bought this Feb) have had to be binned as I have worn all the heel lining away inside and it hurts the back of my heel.

Did go through wardrobe today to sort out clothes again - DD2 has sorted through hers too and now have stuff for car boot and for charity which is good.
Roll on next month when I go to London with girlies - thats when I promised myself I can buy myself something nice as a treat but to be honest appart from replacing the above (thats not counted in my own budget as essentials) I don't need anything.

True might initially be cheaper for a vest but it's handy to have something in for when the next emergency occurs.

  • Hi all. Have to confess to buying a gorgeous flowery Topshop dress from a charity shop. It is immaculate and I have no guilty conscience. I had seen one very similar for over £50 so I'm very happy with my £6 bargain.

Have been a bit naughty and bought some other things, hoping to offset those with ebaying though, if I can't cover it, I'll fess up.
