    Afternoon All

used the the Mothers Day gift card from New Look that DD2 gave me - bought a little white ballerina style white cardi to go over the poppy smudged(lol) dress I bought a week or so ago.

These cardis must be newish in as they weren't there a week ago or so - little cover ups in lots of colours and styles (2 for £18 I think) but my DD1 used her student discount to buy it so I still have £1.20 left on the card!:T

Dilemma is there is a clash of the same date for two of the events I am going to - one a presentation night for DD3 and a art show for DD1 (yeah and thats the other dilema how to do both in one night) - I was going to wear the dress for presentation night but I can't now as I was also going to wear it for DD1 graduation and same people will be at Graduation as same art show - unless I do a Superwoman costume change in some loos somewhere en route!

So will have to find something else to wear instead I think - back to shopping in my personal boutique me thinks:)

Happy New Clothes to all :)

I'm being very good at the moment & came across the following article which I though was quite pertinent for us:

Interesting article Lula. Though perhaps not great I read it after browsing some lovely vegan clothes websites selling lovely bamboo tops that I was already telling myself would be investment buys! ;)

The last couple of months have been a bit mad for me so I'm totally out of synch with my clothes challenge and my NSDs. Have sorted out my budget again so next on the ist is to add up the clothes as I know I've had more than one charity shop shopping spree since I last updated! :o

£12 to declare on sunglasses. No guilt attached as hadn't bought any for years and lens cracked on old ones. Managed to find a pair of big film-star style ones that actually suit my face and feel terribly glam in them.

Annoyed to find a lot of summer clothes and especially sandals need replacing though. Going to make a list and then hope telling you lot will help me stick to it :D

  • Hi all. Not posted in a while. I have been shopping a bit but managing to offset it with ebaying etc. However I have to declare buying 6 yes 6 t-shirts for £31. I'm quite fussy with necklines and finish so I was really pleased with these ones. I think they will pretty much see me through the summer.

I'm going to try to declutter and also to try to be more eco friendly with clothing so hopefully I'll buy less, except maybe for ebay and charity shops, which are recycling. Going to check out that link.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Definately makes you think how over the past twenty years how our perception of our clothes and shopping for them has changed. Great article Lula.

Well I have had a low couple of days - have had to go back to wearing my arm splints all day and most of evenings as my lower arm problem has reared its ugly head. They are taylor made to fit my arms like a plaster cast but are made in a lovely pink shell colour (fine) but with great ugly white velco fasteners from just beneath my elbow right down to where my fingers start - and no matter what I do they do not go with my red and black work uniform (lol)...... so am pretty peeved off as I have a pile of ironing the size of killmanjiro upstairs and I can't tackle it - must admit its takes ages to type too.:(

But on the plus side I had to meet a colleague at her house today and she has leant me 3 of her dresses to try on for the presentation/arty night - then she gave me to keep 2 skirts !
One a lovely tweedy bias cut one to the knees - office/smart wear me thinks and the second a gorgeous pink and grey applique a line Monsoon one! And then she told me I could keep the grey abstract V necked dress she bought in France last year!:T
I was amazed at the amount of just dresses she had! In her spare room she has just one double wardrobe full of them - and she had just given her sister a bin bag full of the smaller sizes! Oh what I would give to go through it and sort it out for her:rotfl:.

But it was lovely of her to pass on those to me and I am really happy and grateful she thought of me ( in exchange I did give her two giant Russian sunflowers that I had grown from seed for her garden ,so not a bad swap!)

    Great article Lula.

Yet more reason to continue being fussy and finally get the sewing machine out once I've finished the masters.

£18 on 2 bikinis for my hols but may return one - not very flattering :(

Ugh, I had to do some bikini shopping before my hols - last bikini bought about 7yrs ago (though I still like it and it has a teeny bit life left... just) Despite being the same size more or less, my derrier seems to have grown a life of it's own and insisted on hanging out the sides of every bottom I tried on, looking very unflattering in the changing room lights. Even tried going up a size in the bottom but far too big round the waist (could forsee some unfortunate pool incident occuring with that! :o)

Anyway, eventually bought a Mantaray one in Debenhams (since I also had £15 love2shop vouchers) and it was fine on hols (derrier seemed to reduce back to acceptable size :D) - now I've come back to find it's in the sale...darn it! :rotfl::rotfl:

forgive me LH but I have sinned. Many items fell into my bag in the last two weeks. Much of it was needed, and cheaper in the UK than in NZ, but even still I reckon I have spent about $200 since the beginning of April. Though some of that was inavoidable spend, as I did have nothing to wear for my dads funeral..

    off to adjust my total
