    evening all!

This don't warrant its own thread but I normally use 4 bananas to make a banana loaf or banana muffins. I only have 2 that NEED cooking before they go too far!

    Help!

What can I make, or is anyone good at giving reduced baking ingredient amounts?!

I have the usual basic baking ingredients!

    Thanks

    Lisa

    Lisa,

This is my recipe for banana bread and it makes two loaves. Could you half it to make one?

Today has been pretty awful again. I got told by the head that due to the lack of support that the school has to offer for a newly qualified teacher, then I may fail. :( I cried all the way home. If I leave at Christmas then I won't and I could finish the NQT year in a different, more supportive school. I'm absolutely devastated and I met with the NQT support lady for the area and she thinks that the head is being incredibly rubbish - but trying to push me out.

    Vicky

Vicky A, I am really sorry to hear of this, as a parent you assume everything "behind the scenes" is tickety boo but a couple of my friends are NQT's and I know that like you, they have found the lack of support frustrating. It's shameful really, especially when you are expected to remain positive all day.

I hope you can find some red wine to have with your spag bol!
  • Hi, all! Sorry that my previous post was cut off so abruptly, but I got called away by the children and only just got back.

Peem, another Archers fan! Should have thought of you, after your recent misundersatnding with the posh lady and her rosehips on Woman's hour. :j
However, tonight's Archers turned out to be a big anticlimax

Queenie, congratulations. I wasn't here a year ago, so no idea what your issues were, but great to have you around! :A

Dorry, thanks for the PM. Will check it out later. :T

Vicky, (((((hugs))))) for you. I thought NQTs were supposed to have more assistance. Doesn't that work for schools in special measures? Hope you sort it all out.

Jan, that made me laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Made a delicious mushroom and mushroom risotto, inspired by Thriftlady - thanks! :T The pumpkin's I've grown this year are quite sweet - too sweet for soup, but this was yummy.

Twink, meant to say, great to have you back. Are you feeling better now?

    See you all tomorrow.

It normally works like that, but with 3 teachers off sick and my supposed mentor having been removed from mentoring me, due to her lack of mentoring skills and the fact that the head is currently head of two schools.......... then I'm not getting much support. :(:( DH is furious that I've been let down like this. I'm now on operation "find a job" - doesn't matter what the job is, I'll do it because I need to earn money.

GP friend of ours got an interesting request the other day. He is a very happy chap and enjoys his work....... Whilst carrying out a smear (and therefore in close proximity to her nether regions), he was quietly asked could he stop being so happy and stop whistling as it was causing a draught...........

Awwww ((((hugs)))) Vicky. A friend of mine started a teaching job in Sept and a few weeks ago was externally inspected. She was devastated because the class really acted up and she could not control them - she said what was most upsetting was that they had been great all term prior to the inspection. She got their report back today - and it was awful - and she has lost all confidence in her abilities.

    Really feel for you.

Well, Spanish was a real hoot - at least now I know how to do Norf, sarf, eats and wets in Spanish, even if I can't manage it in English ;)

PA meeting was ... well, something *else*!!! What a bunch of dullards!!! :o No offense meant but it was definately lacking in the 'enthusiasm' department! No wonder L was almost biting my hand off to be involved (she's the same star sign as me and we had an absolute blast together at the Boot Fair last month). These people were seriously brain dead! Or maybe simply brain damaged by lack of support and fresh blood  It was almost pitiful. Yet, despite that, they have done magnificently .. they just lack any enthusiasm or ... creativity? The word, "doldrums" came to mind.
The Head was almost wary of discussion the most ,exciting yet albeit challenging, plans for the future; but the moment I asked a question, it was like *WOW!* and his enthusiasm was reignited!! Shot myself in the foot there though, that 1/2 hour meeting ended as 2hrs (not good! :naughty: ). At the end though, the Chair was all beams and most welcoming ... scarey!!!! They seriously need a recruitment drive on the parenting front!

I'm rather excited by it, because I have certain experiences which I know I can utilise ... but, slowly slowly, catchey monkey ;) .. don't want to scare them any more than I already have! :shhh:

Stopped off at Asda so I don't have to worry about fresh food shopping tomorrow (yet another Dental appointment :( *insert suitable groan* ) and they have loads of vegetable goodies for 10p which I snapped up ... reminded me of OS jumble sales when those frail, infirm 'grannies' would have a rebirth of gargantuan energy and fight any one, any size to be the first in line for a 1p bargain!!! Yes, MSE OS is paying off ... people are certainly wising up to those late night bargains. No matter; I got a few good tenp'nyworths that will make luscious soups, rosti's, vege-meals and I'm a happy camper without resorting to fistycuffs or gluttony ;)

Sleep well, but most especially to those who have difficulties.
