Too much info for some but I had my smear test this morning and it was freezing in the nurses room - made it much harder to relax - as if you can:rotfl:

GP friend of ours got an interesting request the other day. He is a very happy chap and enjoys his work....... Whilst carrying out a smear (and therefore in close proximity to her nether regions), he was quietly asked could he stop being so happy and stop whistling as it was causing a draught...........

Fantastic OS weekend - too much to list here, but microfibre cloths the find of the century for me......

Got some mutton chops to braise for this evening, then labelling up crab apple jelly and green tomato chutney.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Scuzz and Catowen's Nan. Remember Scuzz, you can't help growing old, but you can be IMMATURE FOREVER :p . Yee - ha.

    :rotfl: :T
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
Put on that grin and start right in
    to whistle loud and long
Just hum a merry tune (hum)
Just do your best and take a rest
and sing your self a song

When there's too much to do
Don't let it bother you, forget your troubles,
Try to be just like a cheerful chick-a-dee

And whistle while you work (whistle)
Come on get smart, tune up and start
    to whistle while you work

    (Official Version)
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place
So hum a merry tune (hum)
It won't take long when there's a song
to help you set the place

And as you sweep the room
    Imagine that the broom
    is someone that you love
And soon you'll find you're dancing to the tune

(Spoken): Oh, no, no, no, no! Put them in the tub)
When hearts are high the time will fly
    So whistle while you work

:T :rotfl: Thanks, Jan - that has ensured my screen now needs cleaning ;):D:D:D

PS: Forgot to put in my original post, but I did want to say thank you for all the kind messages and PM's yesterday - think I've added another wrinkle to my face :o;) Thank you all!! :T :T

    Hello all

    Happy Birthday Scuzz:beer:

My first day of work went in a blur yesterday. lots to try and learn and they threw me in the deep end, getting me to answer phones and take orders within 10 minutes of being there:eek:

Today - ahem! my first day of being at home:D :D:D . I have tidied, cleaned kitchen, two loads of washing and some ironing. Can't decide whether to spend afternoon wrapping dds presents or more ironing:confused: :undecided

Lamb chops for tea with all the trimmings.

Hugs to all (Tinkerbell - don't be hard on yourself, you are bound to feel low atm:grouphug:)

Is it normal for a 14 yr old girl to have lost her marbles? I will have to go early to get her today so that a) I can go via the supermarket where she left her pe kit yesterday and b) take her packed lunch which she forgot this morning so that she can eat it at 3.30 - she will be famished. I spent this morning weighing out cookery ingredients for her to take because she forgot to do it last night. Would you carry on helping her or let her feel the consequences of her frequent mind slips:confused:

Thank you Jackie, you've made me feel a bit better now. I was just thinking that 23 didn't seem that long ago when I realised......I'm 20 years older than scuzz.

I feel too young to be 43, if you know what I mean......and you are definitely way too young to be in your 60's!

    Hi everyone!
    Happy birthday Scuzz!
All well here in Aril land today although there won't be masses of old styling going on unfortunately. Have however, cleaned the bathroom [will need to try out the tip I've just spotted for removing mould..ugh] and sorted out all the dry washing and put away the ironing from last night.
Final Chrimbo pressie ordered today from Studio 42..let's hope they've still got the Beano pack in the sale otherwise the small person will be rather disappointed!
I am unable to think of a single thrilling thing I shall be doing today. I think I'm likely to be helping OH prepare for his big dollshouse show he's got coming up this weekend in London and I really do need to pin him down to finish off the accounts [I've done my bit of them already...halo shining brightly!!]
Shall also need to pay very close attention to Mark Ramprakash's dancing technique on Strictly Come Dancing tonight....oh heck I shall turn into Arlene if I'm not careful!!!
Enough of my waffle..embarrassed to admit that it's sardine burgers again for tea. Oh well it is cubs- that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
    Have a groovy Tuesday

    Afternoon all

Well im really pleased with my efforts today. so far i have
1-cleared out the airring cupboard, put all the old blankets and towels to be sent to school weigh in on fri, it looks so neat and tidy.Which then insprired me to...
2- change all 5 beds bedding. Put a fleecy blanket on top of all duvets, only still having heating on for 1 hour in the morning, but starting to feel the chill at night.
3- Hoovered the whole house up and down
4-Done 5 loads of washing and put most of it away.
5-Cleared all kictchen junk drawers out.(found DH driving license thats been missing!!)
6-Bm on with a sundried tomatoe loaf.
    7-Cleaned the fridge.
8-Wiped down living room walls, had lots of finger/hand prints, plus juice that the kids keep spilling!!

Just having 10 mins as DD fell to sleep on settee, then going to prepare tea and make some sandwich fillers for tommorow, cheese and bacon for kids, and tuna sweetcorn and mayo for Dh.

    Catch up later
    bye for now

    :D Afternoon all.

Just back from trip to get DD new shoes.

WM has been on and I need to hang towels over the banister to dry.

Then I'll go and clear up living room - looks like a bomb site at the mo.

DS not having a good time at school, I think it's only lunch times that are bothering him. He eats slowly and while he's still eating his pals have all cleared away and gone out to play and then the big ones come and sit beside him. I don't think there's any real problem other than that he's painfully shy and he finds this quite hard. I could bring him home for lunch every day but I would like him to persevere for a while. Though it's hard taking him when he's crying his eyes out.

It's brought on a phase of nostalgia for him (he's 4:eek: ) cause he's dug out his old nursery file and is reminiscing of the good old days:rotfl: .

Last night he came in and DD and I had made cakes "Mum, when I get bigger could you give me the recipe for those cakes?" one OSer in the making!

Tuna pasta bake for dinner - got a tin of pasta sauce in the cupboard which has to be used, and loads of mozzarella in the freezer, so we'll see what happens.

MIL gave me some venison last night - it had been frozen before, so I've cooked it off and put it in the freezer and I'll see what I can do with it next week - there's a venison pie in Rose Prince I might try.

Off to see about that living room.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCUZZ. Ah , 23, those were the days.
