Another cold and wet morning. I don't start work until 2pm, so I thought about servicing the car..... I don't think so now as I am not rolling around a wet driveway trying to get the oil filter off.
Great news on the Christmas front. We counted the Christmas 'pot' last night. This is an old copper kettle we put all the loose change in. £81 including clubcard vouchers:j :j :j . So that will go directly into the cheese, biscuit , wine and other goodies for the Christmas..
Anyway... A good weekend and long enough to be ready for work again... CheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Good Morning OSers :hello:
Blimey Wanty, I want half your energy - mind you I'm twice your age
Was proper poorly at the weekend (TMI alert apparently I have 27ft of intestines and I cleared it all out - top and bottom _pale_ ) OK safe to read on.
Things got a bit out of hand with the cleaning, so the whole house needs doing. Mainly the kitchen as OH has been cooking for two days without cleaning up after himself  At least I know the school uniforms will be ready for today as I washed them on Friday. Where they are now is another matter
Also I need to visit DS1(12)'s orthodontist. He wears 'twin blocks' as, up to about 6 months ago, teeth like a small donkeyWe love him to bits, but he does get called Billy Bob every now and then. His older half brother and sister had the same problem, but we got it sorted. He knows that he will eventually have movies star teeth, but it's going to take a bit of rearranging
Anyhoo, his bottom twin block was knocked out on the football pitch last Friday and was trampled under foot. I told him about playing sport with them in, but he's 12 years old and knows better.
So - today
Clean kitchen (or at least chip the !!!!!! of the top layer)
Catch up with laundry
Visit Orthodontist
Walk dogs
Clean the bathroom
School run
Swimming
Teatime
Ironing
Bed (phew)
Have a great day everyone. (((((hugs))))) to all who need them and slow down Wanty - you're making us oldsters look bad :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
PS: I should point out that the photo linky is not actually DS1, just someone similarly afflicted:D
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD
- you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Morning all! Great weekend, so raring to go this morning! Finished off with a big bonfire of garden clippings - very satisfying! :j
Need to spruce my dining room today, in time for guests on Friday. Won't be too bad a job, as I've been keeping on top of it the Flylady way.
Ω≡♣♫ﭷÆ to Queenie!
DS is making crumble at school on Friday, so we had a dry run here yesterday - apple and bramble from the garden. Delicious!
Have a great day, Penny. x
Edit, no idea why the above text is so big - it's not like that in the preview pane:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Good morning everyone,
It is really cold here today, had trouble sleeping as the wind was blowing so loudly/strongly last night it was keeping me awake!!! Still dark at the moment, so not sure what the day is doing, but im not holding out much hope for a nice one!!!
Have 2 little ones here today, not sure what we are going to do, maybe some cooking today, after having a full house here on Saturday, and then being out from 9.30 til 7 last night, ive done nothing, so could do with cracking on and getting on top of some of those jobs!!! Prob is, with the new furnature, im going to have to keep a close eye on them, as i can see 'bouncing' being the favourite thing today!!!! Got some pork out of the freezer, going to do a roast tonight, as we didnt have one yesterday.
Hope your dinner went well Nelski!!!!!
Right, better get moving, want to get something done before they get here, and my 2 dont seem to want to get up this morning, so better go and get that rocket out.
Hope everyone has a lovely day
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Good morning all!
Sorry, not read everything yet - wanted to get on to page 1 (my settings are set to 40 per page - and I know dozens of people can sneak in while I am typing!)
Hugs to the insomniacs & anyone else who needs/wants them.
Today is very quiet at the mo, DH has gone to w**k, and so has DS - to do his "Saturday" job this morning. So I am having a bit of a clear-up day. 2nd load of washing is on, 1st one is in TD as the weather is atrocious. D/w still wants emptying & refill starting.
errr... can't think of anything else to say. Serves me right for wanting to jump in straight away..........
Have a good day!0 -
Sorry for everyone who has had a bad night, my neighbours included as dd had a screaming fit in the night. She's still fast asleep as she must have exhausted herself. Ds is coughing away under his duvet downstairs. I have just started taking my anti d's again, only side effect is they give me nightmares and had a small one last night, it is a sign that the medication is working at least.
Oh has 2 job interviews today, one is a really good fit so we have everything crossed. Got a playdate with a "new" friend today so that will be nice for dd. Just printed her out a colouring book from the computer, yet another thing I never thought of before I joined this site!
Dinner is roast chicken, swapped my meal planning around yesterday. Am back to taking up my messy knitting, I will get ds's scarf finished before christmas!
Have a good day everyone0 -
Hello everyone
Feeling a bit under the weather today so it's a good job I've got a light day.
Keep sneezing so have a bad feeling I'm going down with the nasties.
Well once I've had my cuppa I have to run DS1 to work (loves his independence so long as it doesn't stretch to taking a bus!) Then I'm going to see what the weather has decided to do as my washing is mounting. After that - it's mucking out Monday. Place always is in a mess after the weekend.
Can't remember what my meal plan says we are having for tea tonight but its definitely going to be mousakka. Salivating thinking about it. (Diets begun)
Enjoy your Monday!
Woohoo just checked my meal plan and today was mousakka, what a happy coincidence.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
