  • The 1 day listing is a great idea. It was Sunday before I caught on so I missed the boat lol!
Will have to give it a go next time :-)
Are we allowed to share eBay usernames on here?
  • Sophiasmum - that's great - I've sold 4 things off of my 1day listings and then realized last night that I could be even cheekier. :) I relisted all the didn't sell on a 1 day AND a 7 day sale. I've 2 bidders so far on my one day and so have cancelled the relevant 7day listing. Not sure if I'll get in trouble for this but as I often post big things on Gumtree as well as Ebay and so do have to cancel I've never had issues.
Listerbelle - well done you too!
CreditCrunch - I also try to get a £10/item average for my things if I can so that I can charge for 2nd class recorded posting - just don't want to deal with missing items if I can help it. Also, given the change to postage costs I now bundle up more often than I used to as the parcel cost is for 1g through 750g!
Re the Dyson - I imagine that will sell well. I've got a canister Dyson that I like a lot - perhaps that's an option?

Here's to more sales (and less buying ;)) this week!

  • Hey Everyone - just wanted to let you in on a neat little trick to let you see how many people looked at your ebay posting easily.

    1) Go to the screen where you've got the list of everything you're selling
    2) Manually change the URL to ebay.com from ebay.co.uk (leave everything else the same)
    3) Hit 'Return' or refresh
    and voila!

I'm not certain why the US version shows this and the UK doesn't but it's interesting to see if anyone's stopped by to see your ads. I find it often coincides more with what sells and what doesn't and so gives me some info to better craft my ad if I have to relist.

    :)

  • Grrrr...stood up by MyHermes 2 days in a row and that's AFTER having called them and being assured that they would pick up the two parcels yesterday. So spent 20min on hold again today at 10p/min and told them to refund my postage costs. Then bit the bullet and sent via Royal Mail 1st class (at a loss of course as they were 2kg packages) so that I could ensure they make it by this week.
Grrr....I guess poor shipping/mail service is a good reason to avoid selling around xmas...

a friend of mine has 2 parcels not arrive so far this month!
Any sign of free listing this weekend?! Had to fork out £300 for home heating oil, so could do with earning that amount :rotfl: Wishful thinking!!

  • I had something finish yesterday with 5 watchers - I put it back on as a buy it now and it sold within 5 mins! I think people are just wanting to buy now and not hang around for auctions to finish.... Got items finishing this weekend - if they sell going to get them straight out in the post, Im getting nervous!!!
Slipper75 - Heard bad things about MyHermes this time of year... mind you, I think all parcel companies struggle.
  • Happy Christmas All :)
Free listing week - starts 26th Dec. Now I think Ill be too busy on 26th Dec but hoping to squeeze in a few listings before the New year!!!
