Hi IS and Credit-crunch.

Facebook selling pages have been around for two years. I have a selling page which is a year old. You can easily find who the admin is, click on members then filter to admin.

IS, with fb selling it is not an auction site although have seen this happen once to somebdy's item.

You search on fb for buy, sell, wanted, free in your area in the search bar. Then see what groups come up in your area. Then ask to join yhe vroup.

You can list an item and upload a pic of how much you want to sell it for. Sometimes you get sales quickly and sometimes you don't. The person can inbox you to get your contact details. They come to your house to cillect and oay you cash. Yes you get timewasters people who don't collrxt, tirn up.

But you get used to who buys well and who doesn't. And if it is someone eho lets you down just tell them you are not selling to them.

Different admins have different rules. Some don't allow bumping of ads. If you put a fullstop in the comment box this bumps your ad back to the top.

Abbreviations sfs still for sale, hw how much, sstc sold subject to collection.

Some admins expect you to delete your ad once it has been sold. You would need to check the rules.

Hth

Good luck credit crunch with baby or new york. X
• Any mums out there how about trying Netmums they have a selling page if you register for your local area.

I have loads to sell but have found it quite daunting, last time I used eBay to sell I ended up with a bill from eBay and PayPal and hardly made anything. This was years ago, has anything changed? Any tips? What is the best time of year to sell?

Your help is always appreciated.

Thank you

Too _much_debt - I have sold quite a bit on netmums over the years, especially good if products are higher price point I think.
I have got 25 items ending on ebay today - about x5 have bids so far totalling £30 but I think more will end up selling :)
Really motivated to get on and list as January is a difficult month financially!
Creditcrunch - goodluck :) We have decided to try for #3.....! Fingers crossed it happens quickly. Even more reason to get ebaying. I have put off booking a summer holiday as well - on the off chance!
Listerbelle - I love it when people give you sellable things, Im one of those people who can never say know to being given stuff, half of it I suppose is sellable, the rest just clutters my house!!
MummyRivett - just think you need to give it a try,,,,can get quite addictive though! I always list items on FLWs and put them up for a price Im happy with so I know that I make money. I try to pay an amount to ebay as soon as I get the money paid to me so that I dont end up with a large bill! Good luck x

Congrats to everyone on their sales and postings! Credit-crunch - kudos on your Dyson sale too :j though I didn't doubt that someone would want to pick it up!

I've got 26 listed and 1 with bids (the one I had to relist due to non-payer - grrr). However, I seem to have amassed so much stuff over the holidays that I'm further behind in my decluttering than I was last year... oh well.

Listerbelle - I think your clothes should sell quite well. I too am going to put my bub clothes on in bundles as it's really too much trouble to list individually or post individually for that matter. I normally try to set myself a limit of at least £5 if not £10 for starting price so that it's worth the time and effort. With the Ebay and Paypal fees it doesn't feel worthwhile otherwise.
MummyRivett - definitely give it a try, but do make sure, like Sophiasmum said, that you list at a starting price that you are happy with. It doesn't feel as if I've missed out on sales by having a higher starting price and keeps me from getting annoyed (as i tried the 99p listings before) with getting low bids.

Need to focus on big stuff but it's so hard when there's not enough room to move....ugh...sometimes I think I should just rent a truck, load it all up and go to the charity store and drop it off and be done with it...

2013 goal is getting rid of all my clutter and it would be a bonus to make
£2000 again doing so!
£291/£2000 = 15%

Hiya - purpleroses - I always get motivated as soon as I get some sales.
I cleared £50 yesterday evening when all my listings finished and everyone has paid up! Also sold something for my parents for £40...
Intention is to put some 99p items on this week.
