I would try that, no harm in asking, eh?
Funnily enough, I check and recheck my packing sheet with the item as I too live in dread of an embarassing mix up. Have visions of sending the man who collects coins the bellydancing outfit and the sweet old lady who wants her knitting patterns the coins and the young girl who wants to learn to shimmy some knitting patterns, lol!
One quick moan - people who don't use capital letters in their addresses, grrrrr.31.5/1000 -
Have just started listing things again yesterday and today - have no 99p listings left so have gone with listing some BIN items - got about 90 things listed (though some of these are multiple listings) and have a watcher on 1 item already
I was listing things with recorded postage costs but thought this affected sales last time so have opted for 1st class this time and hope no-one plays the i didn't get it game

Did you get any joy from the mis-delivered customer, Sophiasmum?
Fairyclicks - 90 items - wowza!
I just totted up and sold 26 items over the last 5 days and got the last lot off today. Everyone has paid, phew. I have 12 items finishing on Sunday and already 3 bids on those, so fingers crossed.
I must say, it is nice to have two whole evenings to myself without having to package stuff up!
Hope everyone else is doing OK.31.5/1000 -

have just realised. I have emailed them and let them know and told them I will send correct item tomorrow... 1st class. Problem is the item they are going to receive has been bought by someone else! So I have asked them if I refund them the postage plus a little for inconvenience could they forward to the winning bidder...Do you think that is cheeky? I know I cant guarentee this working out - but trying for damage limitation.....
Am waiting for them to reply to my groveling email....
It happened to me once, sophiasmum. Can't remember how long ago must be ages. I apologised profusely and asked them to forward the item to the right buyer, at my cost. They didn't mind and understood that mistakes do happen. Hopefully your buyer is the same.
Since then, I'm more cautious. Like you Frugalina, I double check everything. And as soon as I've packed the item I stick on the address. Don't want a repeat
We're both geeks FrugalinaI keep a spreadsheet of my sales since January.
Not doing too bad this month. Still on track with my 1 sale a day, even at 99p2 parcels to post tomorrow and 2 unpaid. I have been buying as well. I need a smart pair of shoes for ds to wear on his holy communion and have found a perfect dress for dd. I'm sorted but really want a suede nude coloured high heels although I have a patent one but not high enough

well done hun, I am disillusioned with myself.
I undercharged postage on 3 items which were the same, and I put another one on, at same postage, and then found out obviously undercharged postage, made a loss on those items, someone started bidding on my item!I can't change the postage

Same here - not a vast amount of money, but 7 out of 12 with bids and watchers on everything else. Many of the 7 with bids are relists, so it goes to show, relisting works!
Aesop, that is a flaming nuisanceI quite often find I undercharge postage in my attempts not to overcharge. If the bidding has been good enough for the item I don't mind, but if it is a small amount there is no way to recoup the losses and that is annoying.
I hope you get more bids to cover it (if not, think of it as a loss leader, lol)!31.5/1000 -
Wow!
I bought a top from a charity shop for 3 pounds last year, wore it twice, lost weight and sold it on ebay today for 17 pounds - I feel like a fraud!Your biggest asset is TIME! I'm focused on multi-generational financial freedom.0 -
Evening all, I have just started ebaying again after over 2 years break, I'm going full guns blazing at the moment and have just finished listing 27 items this evening, mostly for 99p but as these were just lying around the house I'm not too fussed.
I listed over 17 things 2 weeks ago and didn't do as well as I would have liked, for example a Fisher Price bundle of Little People worth over £40 went for only £1.24I could have cried.
I don't think ebay is what it used to be, I used to get so many watchers and make a decent profit years ago, I think I will count myself lucky if at least half of my items sell. I guess it is all profit at the end of the day.
But if you don't mind I will keep you all posted, none of my RL friends ebay so I never have anyone to share my tales with! :rotfl:0
