fairyclicks wrote: »HI everyone!! I am desperately trying not to think bad thoughts about ebay (and loosing the battle i have to say lol)! My update for this week so far is i started off with 94 BIN listings and sold 4 of them since Monday
So i'm up by about £22
I have also literally just changed over from using recorded delivery to using first class which i always used to use until i had 12 non delivery claims made when i had proof of posting and paypal refunded the buyers  I found recorded delivery charges where affecting my sales so thought i would try 1st class again last week and already have someone saying they didn't receive something - it really drives me nuts and i am wondering how you guys work with postage?
Oh and i am another one hates no capitals in addresses and no spaces in postcodes :rotfl:, also though when the address is all in a jumble cos i usually have no idea where the street address ends and the town begins :rotfl:
I have ALWAYS sent my items recorded delivery, I post second class, and always on the Monday after my listings have ended on the Sunday (only if the buyer has paid - obviously)
I have (touch wood) never had an INR, and my star rating is 4.9 for both dispatch time and postage charges. But I know some people do not want to pay the higher price for postage so I may well get less bids, but as I said I've never had to refund so am not out of pocket in that sense.

After a great January and no ebaying in February and March I got my mojo back on Good Friday and have made £219.85 in April! Mainly selling newish Lego my OH has collected & no longer wants, some opened some still sealed, some teddy ornaments I collected as a child & have had sat under my desk for 5 years since they came up from my parents house. They don't always sell well/at all so I did lots of research and managed to sell all of them 1st time at a price that I'm happy with so that's good. Then a few random bits too.
Some bits sold on 2nd listing and I've got a few bits to relist on the next free listings weekend but I'm really pleased, I've filled and emptied a plastic crate twice with all the items and also got rid of a fair bit of packaging material I'd been collecting up so it's been fab for decluttering.
Spent last night going through the dregs from when we were doing the January sales, things we never quite decided if they would sell & to my surprise at least 1 thing normally does well so I think they'll all be going on next, along with some magazines that seem to do well (I'm not a great one for keeping magazines, unlike my OH!). Also got some clothes I think it's worth trying to sell - will just have to see how new postage costs impact buyers.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 20580 -
Update from sales, 8 of the 9 have paid for their items, and yes you've guessed it, the one yet to pay is the winner of the £156 item.
Still he has 2 days to pay-up as stated in my listing, if nothing then I will open a dispute on Saturday.
I know what has happenned though (as I have done it), he thinks he wants it that much that he enters a crazy amount just to be sure to get it, little did he know that the previous bidder had done exactly the same:eek:

Listerbelle - thanks so much for the notification. Unfortunately, I'll be away the whole week of the 7th and so can't list anything as I won't get to mailing before the following week. Will just have to wait for the next one.
Fairyclicks - Sounds like you've had a horrible time with Ebayers not receiving your itemsI always send items that are over £10 by recorded 2nd class delivery as I wouldn't want to deal with refunds for any more than that. Were you able to claim back the money from the post office as you had proof of delivery?
Congrats on everyone else getting through their clutter and posting. I'm hoping to get my Ebay mojo back soon!!!!!!! Make Me Rich This Year eBay & Gumtree
2013 goal is getting rid of all my clutter and it would be a bonus to make £2000 again doing so!

Will have to see what I can find down our Annex (if the rain holds off for a bit).
A bit worried about the new postal charges from now, I've just been through my Business account and put the prices up, have had to take off Overseas postage for some items as people just won't pay the new prices.
Typically someone has paid me today for an item won yesterday with an e-Cheque so this will cost me more to post the item when it clears.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
too_much_debt - someone paid me by echeque...it takes a week to clear! What is it?? I dont really understand....0

sophiasmum, I think an e-cheque is sent when someone doesn't have a credit card or not enough balance in their paypal account so the money comes out of their debit card. Like writing a cheque, the bank takes around 7 days to clear it. I normally send the buyer a message saying thanks for their echeque payment but I'll have to wait until paypal clears it then I'll post their item so they are not left wondering why it's taking so long to dispatch their item.
I was going to wait but since we have FLD this weekend I might as well relist my unsold itemsI still have 99 left of 99p allowance :eek:I've been slacking
need a kick up my pert b*tt:rotfl::rotfl:
