How long do ebay keep new sellers on 10 items please.

Hi Fairy face - I opened another ebay account and was restriced to 10 items (which I used). There was a link at the top - inviting me to apply to sell up to 100 items a month? Just had to give my postal address and then they sent me a letter with a code which I had to input. Im still on x100 listings a month on that account and have to wait for positive feedback to get the cash from paypal. Does that help?

On another note - sold a pair of Clarkes shoes yesterday - just had an email from the winner stating that she is very sorry but she has just had her daughters feet measured and these shoes will no longer fit her!!! Very cheeky!!! How do I cancel this sale to get the ebay fees back??? Can I???

yes, you can go into the transaction and cancel it. You have to ask ebay for the fees back due to the transaction being cancelled by the purchaser.

Thanks Zepsgal, I will just keep them until the next FLW then!

Oh my - I just had a very embarassing moment with one of my sales - the item I had advertised turned out not to be what was in the box!!!

Fortunately, I realised before the buyer came to collect, so I was able to inform him, issue a refund and grovel my apologies. Still, it was only a small purchase so no big deal really, just feel a bit silly as I looked at the blinking thing 3 times before realising my mistake. Doh.

Thanks Aesop - just been on live chat on ebay and have now cancelled the transaction but have been told I only get my fees back if the buyer agrees to the cancellation! (when they actually requested it!) So I have emailed the buyer to ask them to accept the cancellation. Seem to have had my fair share of problems this month,,,,,

Fairyface - just found this on the ebay forum (about how long ebay hold your money for with a new account):
    • You have been an eBay member for more than 6 months, and
    • Your total Feedback score is greater than 100, and
    • Fewer than 5% of your transactions result in dissatisfied buyers*

      OR
    • Your average DSR is greater than 4.5, and
    • Your have received more than 20 DSRs in the last 12 months

Sooo, question for you, I have some items finishing this week that I put up during FLW last weekend and so far no bids. If I relist them on a non-FLW, will I then incur listing charges. If I will, then I shall just keep them for a FLW instead!

If however you sell the item you have relisted on a non FLW the fees will not be charged - as I understand it HTH

Thanks Igamogam, I will have to see what sells and what doesn't!

I know, those postage fees are really going to be high now - hope it doesn't eventually impact sales :(
