  • Hi,

Re: rubble sacks - mine don't smell. I got them from the Pound shop. I can wrap two large pairs of jeans per bag so it works out pretty good value.

Couldn't believe it last night when I logged into ebay and saw that three of my four 'buy it now' items had sold all at once! And they're all paid for too. So I'm off to the post office this afternoon to get rid of them :D Also need to arrange a courier to collect another large thing that I sold.
  • CompletelyLost - I bought the blue ones (8for £1) from our local pound shop and they smell like cigarette smoke interestingly. I've bought grey mailing bags from ebay for clothes and will only use these blue ones for big box stuff as they're 32L size. I found the mailing bags really cheap if you buy in bulk.

Whooeeee! Just received £80 into my PayPal account from a company that approached me during my trip last week to see if i would answer their questions for Sky Alliance (3 x10min questionnaires) over 3 days. Glad I signed up as I wasn't entirely certain it was legit - I guess a case of being in the right place at the right time (and having the right kind of trip - business and 5 days long). As a plus it gave me a chance to rant and rave about the delays and unplanned layover on my way out :rotfl:

  • TMD click 'view order details' on the drop down tab of the item you sold. Should give estimated time frame and under that the expected delivery dates.

Good luck with your listings sophiasmum. Back at work today and out tonight so no listing for me did take 10 parcels to the post office today though.

Big problems with non payers/delayed payments grrr

Thanks Sleepless, found it, really small though so easy to miss.

    Hi all,

Everyone seems to be doing really well with their sales/listings! I'm actually quite glad I didn't put too much on last free listing weekend, as I had 3 items sell and buyers paid immediately so I had 3 items to wrap and then take to the PO today. Not too bad, but any more than that and I'd be struggling!

However, after underestimating my postage last time I sold something this time I seem to have overestimated somewhat! On 2 items I've made around 70p each on postage, and on 1 I've made £1! I usually try to add 20p-30p on to each item, as I reuse old packaging and so it just covers my "expenses", and when listing my items this time I calculated the postage in the same way (or so I thought!). Do you think I should offer to refund some postage or just keep quiet until the buyers say something?! As someone has pointed out before, the buyers knew what I was charging for postage and bid on it anyway, so they've accepted the postage charges. I'm just a little worried that I may get negative fb :-/
  • Katie - I think that those are reasonable. I've seen notifications that people include their gas costs etc in the posting which makes sense to me. I also believe that people should not bid if they don't accept the postal rates whatever they may be and I've seen some shocking ones.

  • Hello everyone - wondering if someone can remind me how I can subscribe to this thread? Somehow my list is now empty.

    Thank so much!

  • hi slipper, you'll see just under the no. of pages, in a green bar the 'thread tools' drop down menu, there is 'subscribe to this thread' option :)
  • I won an auction for a clarks toddler shoes a few days ago for 1p with a 4.99 postage. I didn't mind cos it was still a good buy. although excessive postage is not doing any good on her dsr, 4.5 on p+p.

I've sent a coat to croatia on the 31st jan and the buyer has just emailed me to say that she hasn't received it yet. She's very understanding and still prepared to wait but I have a feeling that it's lost somewhere. 3 weeks, what do you think? I don't mind giving her the full refund. Must remember to get a form for lost item when I'm in PO tomorrow.

I didn't too badly on my items that ended last night, made about £90 minus fees. 11 items still to post.

Slipper, that is a great return for your surveys, well done!
CompletelyLost, :T:T:T for your BIN items. there is a charge for listing BIN, even on FLD?
  • MerryMary - thanks so much! Strangely, now my saved threads are appearing again? Weird but at least I know how to now!

If you're fine refunding her and going through the lost item form the I would say go ahead. However, one of my Christmas cards arrived in Canada 5weeks after I mailed it while others sent at the same time to the same city arrived within a week!

    Congrats on your sales!!

  • Hm - Ive just had a buyer from Australia emailing to say they've not had a parcel I posted on 13th Feb? Doesn't seem long ago to me! I wouldn't mind - but he took ages to pay as was waiting to get paid. I've told him to hang on! (nicely :) )
Items can take a while overseas - I block Italy now, as I sent something early December and was happily thinking they had got it for xmas - they mailed me mid Jan to say thanks for sending and that the Italian postal service is shocking!!!!
