  • Free Listing this weekend on eBay!!!!

    WooooHooo thanks :T

Thanks Natterjack & merrymary for advice on the swords, not had much time to do research, think it could be diffcult one aparrently they introduced legistation in 2008 meaning you couldn't sell them  Will have to investigate further when i get a chance.

Merrymary - Yes you get charged for a buy it now even on free listing weekend. A Buy it now with best offer is 40p per listing. If you auction and add a buy it now too - it depends on the buy it now price. It should show the cost before you confirm the listing though

But - my camera has decided to play up and is giving an error message, so need to try and get that sorted this afternoon! Right - Im off to sort through my childrens clothes!!! (& mine) tidy up along the way and start putting together a pile for ebay. Well I have got a water bill to pay!!!£190 required :(
  • Whats everyones target then? I'd love to use all 100 listings- and any free 99p ones I have left- but these 10 im doing now are taking forever- maybe cos Im on here and my daily clicks lol!

  • hey i'm brand new to ebaying just spent all afternoon weighing items ready to list!
when is best time to list?
i brought a bulk of bubble wrap and packaging off ebay last week (someone from forum told me be cheapest and best option!

cost me around £6 for 100 packaging bags and bubble wrap and i have around 40 items i found to post (doing 10 a week for 4 weeks) so for p+p should i just charge posting fee's and 5p ish for packaging?

If you get the hang on eBay pretty quick, when selling you can schedule an item, to start in say 3 weeks, if you do this and it goes live its costs 6p per item (all adds up!) but if you go and edit the listing when you want it starts and click start immediately you don't get charged the 6p :)

If thats confusing, people say Sunday 8pm is best time to get listing :). What you could do is take all pictures today, type up titles, prices and descriptions in word tomorrow, then put it all together on Sunday.

Id say add no more than 50p on for packaging, some say it covers their fuel costs as well, but that may cover if you calculate postage wrong as well.

    Hi Catherine

How great that you sell on Ebay full time, I am also self employed and sell on Ebay although not full time as my youngest is at Nursery although I try to do lots when I have my 3 hours of peace in the afternoon (I also have two other daughters aged 6 and 7).

When my youngest goes to school full time in September I would like to try and make a go of doing it full time although at the moment I don't have any spare money to buy any more stock which is a pain as I'm running out of Business stuff and Personal stuff.

    Good luck everyone this weekend.

Hi, welcome to the thread/challenge, we always love to have new people join to give us even more motivation to try and make as much money as possible.

I buy my mailing bags from Ebay, I buy the clear ones to wrap clothing/items in and also the white mailing bags as I write the addresses on in biro. I also buy the padded bags from Poundland although they used to be 5 for £1 now only 3 for £1 so I'm going to look around and see if I can find them cheaper elsewhere. I always post stuff Overseas in the brown padded bags as I used to get lots of missing parcels when I used the mailing bags.

Good luck with your listings. I missed the last free listing weekend as we were at Butlins so will be determined to crack on this weekend.

Oh, I always start/end my listings in the evenings between 7.30 and 9.30, I find I never sell anything during the day as most people are out at work or busy with their children or doing other things.
