  • Thanks to you both, my mistake, the case was opened through ebay and not paypal. but payment is on hold. she sent another message just before opening the case that the 2 items are definitely not there and I probably forgot and just to let me know before she leaves a feedback. No mention that she was going to open a case.

I'm currently writing my response to her. I think that's the best thing to do. Full refund when I get my item. I will lose out on postage and probably a neg and low stars :( I could cry. I'm always polite and willing to resolve the problem why the need to open a case. Oh well, thanks guys.
  • The buyer has closed the case as she rather keep the item than send it back :) waiting to see what feedback she's going to leave now. I'd rather she don't.

I didn't do any new listings at the weekend but have a few mock ones to edit when I can summon up the energy :o

Some buyers are a real PITA . Your DSRs might take a hit. Thats the problem with the system that Eb*y has

  • :rotfl: at PITA, I didn't know what it meant. I know now:rotfl:

she just left me a neg feedback and very low stars :( she didn't give me a chance before opening a case. the stars that you see in your feedback profile is that different to the stars in your seller dashboard? maybe mine hasn't updated yet.

I've been running reports to find out how many stars I'm getting from a certain buyer. After getting 2 low stars in p+p out of over 120 transactions. 1 from a buyer who's also selling a similar item and her postage is a lot higher than what I charged her. The highest star I got from her is 3, very generous

Are these reports accurate? has anyone ran them before. very time consuming but worth it though, they leave a glowing feedback and you leave them the same only to look at your seller dashboard and wonder where did the low star come from.

How do I make these low stars go away? by selling less or more? I know offering free p+p helps.

Merrymary - sorry you have to deal with such a tough buyer. I don't know much about the business profile so hopefully someone can come along soon to give you the info.

Well done everyone - seems like you've all managed to post a lot of things up to Ebay this past FLW!

Unfortunately, I was so busy with my boys I just didn't have the time to do more than relist really (17 relisted and 1 new). Oh well. Every little bit helps. Have a few watchers but nothing concrete yet. There's someone here who has, in their signature, the goal to post one item a day. I think that's manageable and I love the idea so I think I may try the same, though starting tomorrow :rotfl:

Best of luck with all your sales!

Oooo  i was just reading through the thread and i realised this bit was about me.....well i think it is anyway:rotfl:

Slipper i used to ebay a lot but had some trying times and completly lost my ebay motivation, so this year decided i need a very realistic and easy to achieve target. I have decided i can actually do the listings everyday or anyday as long as by sunday i have 7 new listings, extras are great but can't count towards the next weeks totals. Good luck with it :D

  • MerryMary - not really sure on the Star thing. Keep an eye on it though because if you drop below standard then you dont get free listing weekends! Also - I think if someone leaves you good feedback but then low stars - you can try asking ebay to change the star rating? Sure Ive read that on the ebay board. May be worth a go?
Ive just listed another x 7 - my stamps are going really well :) Im going to be going to the post office every day next week and I need to invest in more packaging supplies! Just used my last of the free 100 listings for Feb - remember we get another 100 99p starts tomorrow.........St Davids Day!

    Hi everyone :)

I've just spent two weeks reading this entire thread. I wonder if I'm the only person who has?! It's very inspiring. I started ebaying about a month ago in an attempt to declutter. I wondered whether MSE had any advice for sellers... and found you all!

My initial items sold very well (probably because I under-valued them), and I got addicted. But I've got about 20 small things on there atm that aren't shifting; I might give up and charity shop them. I've also got a short list of some larger items awaiting the next FLW.

I've made about £100 so far. Hopefully I can make the same again this month. I'm on mat leave atm, with a list of things to buy for my little one that never seems to get any shorter! My ebay money from last month went on a high chair + activity centre for her. This month I need to start saving for a cot...

I don't have a business account slipper, just a private one. I was highly motivated at the beginning of January so had loads of items listed and sold. Mostly 99p items of dd and ds clothes.

I did contact ebay, sophiasmum, this morning because I'm worried about my stars and the lady I spoke with was not a great help and insisted that the stars left by buyers are anonymous and they can't do anything to change it. I ran a report on our transaction this morning and sure enough 1 star on all 4. She is now blocked. I'll forget about it and move on. On a positive note, ebay cs told me that I don't need to worry about my stars at the moment. No free listing weekends  what would I do with my weekends :rotfl:
So pleased to hear that your stamps are selling well :T

Welcome Lannieduck and well done on your sales last month! ebaying is addictive, keep at it while your motivated :)

Good luck on your sales everyone! will update my sig for Feb

The effects of low star ratings on your DSRs can last up to 12 months. You will need to make sure that everything is tickety boo from now on as any more low stars may well bring you below standard and that has all sorts of knock on effects.
