Sophiasmum - I don't post to Italy either (or Russian Federation or Bulgaria or Lithuania) as I've had parcels go missing to those countries too.
I've just had an item that I posted to Denmark on 10th Feb not turn up, typically it was someone who bought and paid for the item and wanted it sent to a different address (they then paid extra as they had only paid for 1st class UK postage), and now amazingly it has not arrived. I do hate people who buy an item and then ask for it to be posted elsewhere, from now on I will not be posting to any address other than on the Paypal payment (I did post a message once asking about that and was told not to be silly that I would not be covered by Paypal anyway so I've done it when asked).Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
TMD and Sophiasmum - I have to admit that I normally put my things for UK buyers only not including the channel isles. It just seems as if there's too much that could go wrong (like parcel delivery issues). I know that I may not get the most ££ for my things because of it, but I'd rather not have to deal with the hassle/postage difference etc.
Wonder when the next FLW is coming up.
I'm going to try and see if I can post 5 things per day...
Wish me luck as I really need to clear out our basement/my office of all the accumulated babystuff.!!!!!! Make Me Rich This Year eBay & Gumtree
2013 goal is getting rid of all my clutter and it would be a bonus to make £2000 again doing so!
£291/£2000 = 15%

slipper - I'm the same, I only post to UK buyers. And for the same reason as you - I can't be bothered with the hassle of different postage costs and things going missing etc. As you say, it probably means we're missing out on some extra £££ (maybe!) but I'd rather keep my life simple0

Can you not still claim for the missing item via RM, providing you have Proof of posting..?
Was hoping for another FLW this week, but seems we may not be getting one...
I've been sat in all morn waiting for City Link to collect two huge boxes of stuff that I sold. Also sold a 'buy it now' for £54 yesterday, but they have paid for an echeque so I won't be sending the item until it clears.
Next FLW I'm going to start listing all the broken electrical items that I seem to be clinging onto (hoarding!!!) - so that's at least two laptops and a camera to go.0 -
Problem is a lot of my stuff is collectable or to a niche market so I need to post internationally. eg Kylie Minogue fans in Australia!
Ive been given an absolute load of stamps......and I mean loads in presentation packs. They look really complicated to sell and Im really not sure what to do with them?Perhaps Id be better off putting them up as a bulk lot rather than trying to sound like I know what Im talking about and selling them in their individual packs? Just rambling really - I need to take a look at them tonight.....0 -
I sell a lot abroad and don't really have many issues at all, think buyers abroad are much more honest than in the UK
No listings yet this week, but have been exceeding my targets so thought i needed a bit of a break too
Not strictly ebay related (not quite sure what board would be best to start a thread on either) but anyone got any ideas how /where i can attempt to sell Samuari swords? these are proper ones worth money probably somewhere 5-10k's worth. Can't sell *weapons* on ebay, any ideas gratefully received folks? Thanks

Could you take them to any 'professionals' in your area- maybe like an antique type place? They may be able to give you the information you need to sell them, may even give you a price you'd be happy with- so no eBay fees etc. Or there must be achives online of stamps with pictures etc that you be able to match up and get info/titles for listings on the bay?_sleepless_ wrote: »Not strictly ebay related (not quite sure what board would be best to start a thread on either) but anyone got any ideas how /where i can attempt to sell Samuari swords? these are proper ones worth money probably somewhere 5-10k's worth. Not sure what the rules are on gumtree but you could try there. Or shops that sell them may buy them? If it were me id feel better selling them to a shop than to a person I dont know if you see what I mean?£20 a day April 2014 £834.87/£600 :j

I can't believe it another FLW! :eek::D:j
_sleepless_ I googled and a website called blades-uk came up, they seem to buy and sell samurai swords. don't know much about them though.
sorry I meant it as a question, do you get charged listing a BIN item? and if it doesn't sell, you lose out on the fee?
I also set mine to UK buyers only but I don't block countries. If they ask nicely I don't mind posting abroadI'll be claiming for my lost coat sent to Croatia, I think its about 2 weeks after the estimated delivery, will give it til the end of the month to first week of March.
I have 2 x 99p listed atm. Lots of relist to do at the weekend. It's been very mild here in the south east. looking glorious outside! but they forecast rain/showers later so better get on with the rest of my packing. I send dh yesterday to do my dirty workpost 4 of my parcels :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone!
