Sorry, I know this isn't a selling question, but I'm a little worried about an item I'm bidding on. It's an iPod Nano with someones name engraved into it. My maximum bid is £25 but at the moment it's going for 10.50 and theres only a day left. Well about 4 days ago I messaged the seller asking if she would leave the music on it if I win as I've recently had my hardrive wiped by PC world, and she messaged me back yesterday (when the bidding was at £4.20) saying "I suppose I could, but the bidding would need to increase or I'm pulling the sale. I'm not letting this go for four quid...."
Is this allowed? Can she pull the bidding when people have started bidding on it? Is it allowed? I was going to message her saying to put it on buy it now for £20 and I'd buy it now but she took so long to reply to my other message there's probably no point. What happens if she decides she doesn't want to sell it? Surely she should have put a reserve price on it?
well for starters, how are you about copyright on music?
do you know how to get the music from an Ipod without using itunes? it will wipe the nano clean
you cant really force the sale and the seller can pull the listing to a certain point.
I wouldnt stress over it,no shortage of ipods for sale0 -

AFAIK you can end the auction if there are less than 12 hours to go.
That's the beauty of auctions on eBay - sometimes the strangest things go for a lot of money, sometimes more expensive things go for a few pounds.
Having a name engraved on won't help the sale IMO, unless it's a name that relevant to the buyer!
I wouldn't offer a BIN unless you desperately want it - loads of nanos out there.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -
And you can get music off an Ipod to an alternative programme, then back on via iTunes, but it's a bit of a faff.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0

Just wondering if I am the only one who worries about selling higher priced items on ebay?
I have a few things to sell - a Blackberry mobile, two laptops, a PS3, designer clothing... but I keep avoiding listing them. I'd be so much happier if they were gone but the risk of being scammed worries me!0 -
completely lost i'm sure you'l be fine listing them. Just make sure the electronics are uk only auctions and send everything by recorded delivery. but i'd maybe spread them out so they're not listed together.
Good luck0 -
Yeah Purpleroses, I think I will do them one at a time so that I don't feel so overwhelmed by the task...
I've just listed one item at £145 (2 watchers already and it's only been 20 mins), with special delivery postage... fingers crossed it sells quickly and then I can stick the Blackberry on
My April total is in need of a boost.
On another note, I sold three tiny items at the weekend and I have absolutely no idea where I've put them. I've searched high and low... Is anyone else as disorganised as moi?0 -

Another week, another tiny eBay amount to add = £4.85. Sigh. But hey, it'll get us a bottle of plonk

Make sure you record the serial numbers of the items as well then if something needs to be returned you can match up what you sent.0
