  • I loved mine! Have lost it (:o:o:o) but had it for 3 years. First couple of times using it was weird - first time I came out of the loo and went into my bf horrified as I couldn't get it out! :rotfl: but you just have to bear down and use those muscles and it come out enough for you to twist it out. Definitely cannot recommend enough. Get one you won't regret it

Another vote for the mooncup! :) It's great, I put it in in the morning and don't have to worry about it until the evening. And after the first few times it is really easy to put in/out- just takes a bit of practice! Saved lots of money and waste, and I feel a lot more "clean" as well IYKWIM.

i've thought about this but worry about changing it when i'm out at work. some of you on here have said they've left it in all day. what is the average length of time do you lot leave it in before emptying it out? say if i had to clean it, how would some baby wipes help - wouldn't there be too much 'spillage' involved and become messy whilst locked in the confines of the toilet cubicle? as i work in the evenings, there are less ppl around in the office who would use the toilets that often, so i'd be v. tempted to wash it in the sink, but i'd always fear of getting caught tho' as i know the my colleagues would simply freak out and tell everyone!

I don't think there has been any reported cases of tss with the mooncup either do much safer than tampons. I like the fact that I can put it in before my period starts so I don't get that horrible leaky feeling I used to get when it started every month!

Well after reading about these on here, I've finally bought one from the internet (for about £18 delivered). Does anyone have any tips for a first time user of the mooncup? Thanks in advance.

Wet it under the hot tap - makes it much easier to insert!

I wouldn't use anything that you wouldn't "push inside" iyswim. A bottle of water would be better, or a wet paper towel. The contents can just be poured out, so you only need to clean the outside before you put it back in (and your fingers...).

I'm cringing :o I don't have periods but fare play to those who can use them.

I used to be funny about tampons too.

On less heavy days I've left mine in a good 12 hours. For me, the "spillage" as you say goes down the loo, then baby wipes (though to be honest i tend to use toilet roll) just to clean it up a little before reinsertion.

Honestly they're brilliant, I've had mine for 5 years now.
