Thank you flutterby, didn't think to check green moneysaving as I don't usually visit that board.
  • Never try to pull it out by the stem (the suction caused by doing this makes it impossible to remove that way). Always pinch the cup to remove it. Trim the stem so it doesn't poke you. :) You don't use the stem anyway, so it's not needed (though don't trim it too short).
  • I use this, it's brilliant!!
Have used it for just over a year now and could never go back to nasty chemically dyed tampons or pads - and have saved a small fortune also!
  • Oh, as a tip, make sure your cup is fully unfolded inside you by giving it a twist around a few times.
  • Have to admit Loztredders that the thought of giving it a twist around a few times is making me feel a bit less sure about it! Not usually queasy though so thank you for the tip!
  • Lol I never have to twist it around, when ur putting it in, just make sure it "pops" out fully as u will need to fold it in half to get it in.

I did also cut my stem off totally as it bugged me, but each to their own. ive had mine for 5 years and so can say it is well worth the money! I do however still buy occasional tampons if im going places it wont be too practicle to have the moon cup in (perhaps a pack or 2 max a year).

Good luck! I would advise, perhaps for ur first few uses until you get used to how to put it in, wear a pantyliner just incase :)
  • Thank you EmmyLou. That's a relief! I was thinking of using liners as a back-up anyway but thanks for reminding me..
  • I have just bought one too after reading this thread. Good luck to all the newbies, I hope they are as good as people say!!
  • It'll change your life! Don't worry if it's weird for the first couple of periods- tampons took a while to get used to as well, you just can't remember that far back :rotfl:.
I found that the stem was a bit sharp where I cut it  :eek: so I had to trim it carefully a few times (I chopped it right off as I didn't need it). If you feel that the cup is riding up inside you you're putting it in too high up- it does sit very low, just inside you. Keep trying, these things are the future :T.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
