    Hope you're feeling better? :)

Yes, finally feel like I'm on the mend and definitely not coughing as much.

Enjoying a nice cider on the sofa with my flatmate and some TV - we've done Eastenders (Carol & Connor --- eugh... and don't get me started on Glenda and Phil) and are now watching Relocation Australia on Ch4 + 1. Just so depressing to be watching all this sunny weather in Aus, I wish I was on holiday.....
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

    OK, a weekend round up.

On the plus side I got a £11.27 payment to my paypal from Taste Radar. So my total in Paypal is £29.62 :j

I also bought figs and pineapple at Tesco as I've not bought much friut and veg this month so figure my Taste radar for this month will cover it!

My friend rang me on Saturday night as a mutual friend had got us freebie tickets for a classical concert. So I turned off Total Wipeout and got out of my trackie bottoms and headed into town. Was fab to see my friends and we hatched some plans for future shows at our fave venue - so much good stuff - just keeping my fingers crossed for more freebie tickets!!!

I've been working on a bath mat all weekend. Been planning to make it for ages. I cut up about 8 old t-shirts plus a pair of old pyjamas that were jersey as well. I then plaited them all and am currently sewing them into an oval.

This is good cos it saves me buying one and also declutters those clothes and it even looks quite good. More time consuming than I expected though so will have to finish it this week.

I also bought a book, my mum has an amazing bread book that was published in 1977 and she got as an anniversary present from my Dad () that year. I was talking about it with her and she gave me the isbn and I found it on Amazon second hand for £2.81 including postage so I ordered it as I had some gift card money left over from a survey voucher. :j Bring on the lovely bread stuff - it has bread and other recipes like danish pastries, chelsea buns, lardy cake, croissants, proper doughnuts, pita bread and tons of other things that you've never heard of.

On the downside, I've no social events planned for this week and I thought I would be out next weekend but the plans have changed  and I'm going slightly mad from being in the flat so much over the past two weeks.......

I need to make sure I do stuff in the evenings so that I don't feel like I've wasted my time. I've got plenty to be going on with though so no worries there!

I get paid on Thursday so the 'audacious austerity plan' kicks in then...and I won't have as much to pay off the debt as I'm already overdrawn....:(

And one of my best mates is planning to move to Cambridgeshire, can't believe she is going to leave London :( but totally understand the reasons - bigger, more amazing house and smaller mortgage.....probably better environment for a child. But still! Thank god for my childless friends :j:j
I've got my own flat :j:j

Hi makeup, glad you're feeling much better if somewhat stir crazy.

I'm intrigued by the bathmat ? I have so many t shirts that are too tatty for charitizing or to wear other than for gardening but I cant bear to throw them out. Point me towards the craft required please :D

On the other hand, do not under any circumstances point to towards any book that has recipes for lardy cake .

I love Lardy Cake, it is a traditional in Wilts where my parents lives and you can get it in every bakery. The name is off putting but it tastes divine.....(I should make some for our get-together!!!!)

Lula, the bathmat is quite easy to make but is taking longer than I expected. I cut the t-shirts into strips, bascially a spiral starting from the bottom hem, and kind of ending up at the bottom of the armholes. The rest of the T-shirt can be used as cloths for cleaning, dusting etc. I made them 4cm wide and it doesn't really matter how neat it is as when you plait them the odd bits are hidden and the inconsistencies look quite good.

Then start by getting one long strip and then sewing in another strip in the middle so that you have a long t-shape. This then creates the three strips for the plait to begin. To start either get someone to hold the end or hang over a door handle.

Then plait it all in one long massive strip. Just sew in new strips when you need too. Make sure the plait is tight and you can fold in and hide any odd bits.

Then it is time to sew it up. If you want a circular mat just spiral them. For an oblong just start with a straight line, I had a straight bit of 30cm and then just wound it round. Then just sew it together with a kind of zig zag stitch, nothing perfect, nothing fancy.

This part is taking me a while and originally I was sewing it on my lap but I think you need to have it flat to make sure the end mat is flat! So now I'm sat on the floor sewing it but a table would probably be better!

I'll post some photos so you can see what I mean. It may sound a bit hard but it isn't, this is really easy as you don't need to be perfect - which suits me!

Well I'm one day into my frugaltastic new lifestyle.

And it is causing me pain but the planets seem to be helping me too! I've found a fab deal for a hotel in Dublin - perfect for a weekend away ..... however all my friends are either broke, have babies are pregnant or have been to Dublin before!!! So seems like London is for the longhaul.

I've checked my online banking and the sorry tale is as follows:

    Debts:

    Bank of M&D - £2000
    Mint - £740.10
    Overdraft - £123.72

So with £125 towards my overdraft this leaves £333 to go to the Mint card.

with regards to my £330 for the month, I've spent £59 so far which is on my meat box for the next 8 weeks.

    so I've £271 left.

I've got plans to go to the cinema on Sunday but apart from that I should get ebaying, tidying, decluttering etc.

There is a light fitting that I love in BHS for my bedroom. I keep looking at it and hoping they have a sale but they never put 'my' light fitting in! However I've seen they accept paypal for payment on their website so hopefully all my taste radar, survey payments and other stuff can pay for my light fitting.

My new plan is that paypal can cover my plans for my bedroom and that is one of my key targets for 2011, my room is a complete mess with boxes everywhere and random bits of furniture and I want it to be a fabulous, glamorous sanctuary.....

Oh yes, my bread book arrived this afternoon - hurrah - so excited - so many fabulous recipes. On a seperate but related note I might make some marmalade this weekend too!

OOh makeup, how exciting re the bedroom. I have a similar amount to you (£310) to live on next month after I've popped some cash into the bank of Mum and Dad for safe keeping so let's see how we go! X
