I am doing the same as you in starting my budget from next payday which for me is 28th January :eek: I quite literally have about £50 to do me until then, unless I get some babysitting jobs in between now and then!
I love the idea for your dad as well, it is something unique and you could personalize it as well

Those Christmas paydays are a killer! did you get yours early??

Good luck with the babysitting jobs, maybe towards end of month folks will be looking for a night out again?!

Yeah we got payed on 20th instead of 28th and it has killed me as I made a HUGE payment to my CC to clear it as I really wanted it gone before 2011!!
I am babysitting on Friday for 2 kids who used to go to the Nursery I work in so that is a little bit extra.

Yay for babysitting jobs! that is the good thing about 20th for pay day, don't have that Xmas hassle!

I think the first thing I'm going to make for my Dad is some lemon curd as I've got lots of lemons left over from Xmas.

Ace idea make up for your Dad. My Dad's bday is Saturday which is always a struggle as he is quite hard to buy for at the best of times. Not arsey about stuff just wouldn't use lots of it. He does exercise a lot though so got hime some sporty stuff in the end from my local badly organised surly staffed discount sportswear place!

My Dad is the same really (although not sporty) I pretty much default to either books or DVD's!!! So trying to find something interesting for a change.

On other moneysaving or more strictly money-earning news I didn't get the promotion I went for.

I did get positive feedback though and I think it went down to me and one other person.

Means I am actually gonna have to stick to the budget I wrote :eek:

Sorry you didn't get the promotion but great on the positive feedback. Will you start to look for other opportunities at the higher level? Will your workplace give you opportunities to help you get that job the next time?

I too love the ideas that you have for your dad's gift - one that will last for a whole year!
