She seemed fine. he said it went well, and they may be able to do it again sometime. I said I hoped it would be regular. he was on a call out so he had to go. Gritters broken down in Silverstone he had to go out to fix it.
She was happy to see her bike here, and did a circuit of the sittingroom, and thats no mean feat! its not very big... She has messed me about for getting to bed, but thats to be expected really.
She has been pushing her luck of late. But with the words of Super Nanny in my head. Its be strong, dont give in, and dont get riled! EEK
I am getting ready for bed myself now I think. I am very tired. Wanted to watch something on the TV catch up stuff but actually think it can wait a bit longer now.
Onwards and upwards. Tomorrow will be an early start, and I have found Mould in the bathroom against the outside wall, so I will need to think about getting a fungicidal Paint once I have cleaned it!
Hope the damp proof is not compromised along the back wall.:eek:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Mooloo, is this your responsibility or could it be counted as snagging and be left for the HA to deal with???
Glad DGD seems to have had a good time :T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

Scuse my ignorance. whats Snagging?
I shall show the buildings inspector tomorrow when he comes out about the rotten floorboards in the sittingroom.
I shall also point out that the switch to the shower doesnt work properly, and that the back door doesnt have a weatherboardbit, and that the front door is dripping with condensation and soaking the floor, and has rotted the beading below the door.
Thats all I have found to be a problem, apart from the garden of course.
It will need serious attention.
Its a bit dangerous at the moment.
There are no pathways at all. So I will need to get that sorted out, but that will be my responsibility not theres I think.
Yesterday Biggest of Mooloo had her car stolen!
So she is not a happy bunny and will need to get to work, which is not going to be easy as she is currently living in a village (bit like I was). Certainly not on the bus route to her work.!
I cannot lend her mine, as mine has to go into the garage Tomorrow too.
Not a good start for thier New Year then.
Here is hoping that its found soon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo,
Snagging is part of any new build or renovation where a short while after the builders have finished they are given a list of remedial works that need to be done. Very much like your list above! There would usually be a percentage of the total bill retained until snagging has been done to the customer's satisfaction.
Poor biggest, not a good start to the year. Hope she gets sorted quickly.

Ah thanks. I will give them the list tomorrow.
Biggest of Mooloo could do with some good luck. She has been unwell and is off sick, where she is not getting paid, as her company had closed down, and restarted as another one, when the Hips were abbolished (oh to abbolish my hips!!). So her contract is a new one, and she will also loose what would have been her maternity rights. So expenses she can ill afford. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

For biggest: Is this a phoenix company - risen out of the ashes of the old one - or is it a completely new company with different Management? Has she taken legal advice on her rights? Is she not covered by any of the TUPE regulations?
I thinks she should also have some maternity rights, even if these are the legal minimum.
Whatever, it is such a shame that she loses out through no fault of her own:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
I am not sure of the legalities of it, but she said she had looked into it. We will just have to see.
She is quite a clever girl, so I am sure she will check things out correctly. Although I will give her a nudge.
Thanks again. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo, long time lurker here!
If Biggest Mooloo isn't entitled to maternity pay through her job she can apply for maternity allowance, you have to provide pay slips to prove you've been working but you get just over £100 a week on top of tax credits and child benefit.
Here's the link.
Good luck in your new home!0 -

Thanks I will send her the link tomorrow when she is back at work. She is borrowing her BF's Mums car I think.
Trying to do a budget with Cheryls spreadsheet, but my laptop doesnt have Microsoft Office on it, only the old Works spreadsheets so I am going to have to be in it for the long haul to work it out.!Cannot save it! But its already looking like I am spending over £12,000! :eek:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
minimoneysaver wrote: »Mooloo, do you have to let social services know when you let someone else take DGD? I know my neighbour (who is a foster carer) has to have permission from SS to even leave her foster child with someone to go out for a couple of hours. It doesn't sound like SS make it very easy for foster carers. I must admit I was surprised to hear that from her.
That sounds a bit OTT - normally foster carers will have a network of other carers and they share the children (if possible) for babysitting etc. All foster carers have to complete quite a lot of training which clashes with children at home and they use each other. Any regular carers will be noted with the childs record and nothing would irriate me more than a foster carer telling me everytime she went to Tesco! Its not a requirement to know all the time, also carers leave babys in creches etc whilst they play sport etc.As a Foster Carer its our responsibility, and if we were to be going out and leaving them with someone who is a stranger, it may be different.
DGD was with her maternal grandfather, who she does know, but not so brilliantly. SS have spoken with him and it is recorded that he would be happy to have more contact.
As my situation is going to be the Guardian, I am left to do what I think is best.
CRB checks are done on the people around her if they are to have a major part in her life. Until the guardian ship is through, then its my responsibility again.
Gizmo will tell you the proper facts.
SS dont seem to have done things very well with me anyway, so to be honest I really just work on my gut feelings.
I know that her granddad would not harm her or i wouldnt have let her go. I may not be married to him anymore, but he was not a bad man, (just lazy, and liberal with the truth, but then that was 17 years ago since we divorced!).
I am quite tired now, and wish there was a TV in my room. I would watch a bit all cozy etc. Maybe soon.
Sitting room starting to look like a big room now. Kitchen will always look too small! Not much I can do about that. (Maybe it was designed for people who dont cook much!). :rotfl:
Hey Mooloo, can't beleive how busy you have been things are really coming on.
As long as SS have done the initial police check (a short version of the CRB) then there is no reason why you cannot leave DGD with anyone in the family. Once you become Special Guardian then as you rightly say it will be up to you as you will have PR for DGD and will have legal responsibility for her. Whilst she is still in foster care then you have to let the social workers know whats going on, but as you say they don't really seem to be aware of your existence!Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
