The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

I keep popping on to see if anyone has posted, but end up not updating as I've not got much to report
From last free listing weekend on ebay I sold 3 things (2 small and one bigger) which have all been posted. Wrapped a few pressies up, so paper and tags used up, as well as some Christmas cards posted. We have the additional clutter on the fire place (we don't have it on lol!) of 2 choc Advent Calendars each for the girls (one from both sets of Grandparents!), as well as a none-choc one from a kids magazine, and I also got them the Usborne 'Advent Calendar to Colour' with my Book People points as I thought it would make a nice keep sake...oh dear!
Else where I have tried to tidy some of my crafting stuff in the conservatory by condencing it into bags and boxes and recycling packaging etc. A lot of my ironing got done, but I now have another largish pile as I didn't keep on top of it grrr
The DDs tidied up their underwear drawers and have found some knickers too small/tatty for them so they've been consigned to the recycle bin. Also managed to use up the dregs from a few bathroom products so they've been washed out and recycled too.
Still have PLENTY to do before Christmas, I can't remember if I've already mentioned it but I'm doing Christmas dinner for the first time (2 adults and a 2yr old in 2006 doesn't really count as a proper big dinner) for 5 adults and 2 children so I want the house to be in tip top condition so a) I feel relaxed instead of stressing about what everyone thinks, and b) there won't be much to do after, apart from recycle wrapping paper and wash up
NY's resolution - declutter my posts by not waffling so much!!Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I am at the point where things are worse than when I started. The point when you feel like moving out and leaving the country, never to be seen again.

Thats me!
I have only been in this house a year and its over flowing to the gills. manly clothes and fabrics! As I sew I am scattering all my stuff everywhere. As I upcycle I gain clothes from people who know I will (eventually) turn them into something else!. The only problem is that I have had a bad year health wise, and all my energy has gone into bringing up my 4 year old granddaughter, and not into the house we live in! Maybe I will have to be on next years Declutter as somehow I cannot see me getting much done this side of Christmas!.:eek:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well been a bit busier than expected, my mum was here & then my nephew decided to come, so had to clear some space in the dining (slash junk) room for him  so clearing of papers, & floor space & hoovering had to take place.
anyway, that meant my mum has taken several boxes of (old) books with her, so I think even though things have come in, I think more things have gone out. She found a bookseller and managed to sell a few books to him, so hopefully she can sell a few more to himShe's also taken a stool we weren't using with her. And I've given her an old cotton vest thingy which I thought might fit my niece (it's very pretty, has been inherited with the house!)
I also have a bag of materials to give someone this week hopefully along with a book, maybe a couple of other things too.
good luck cat04 with the christmas dinner

I have now decluttered all the PTA stuff back to school, and myself from the PTA - this now also gives me more time for my own decluttering. Unfortunately the space that was left when I took everything back has already been filled by the boys with their toys! If they want a Christmas tree this year they'll have to shift them though...0

I need to get into serious decluttering action before Christmas! I took a black bag full to a charity shop last week, but this has barely made a dent in the spare room. OH's Mum is arriving in six days and will be staying for at least a couple of nights and everywhere is covered in stuff! The cupboard containing the decorations is also blocked in by junk, so need to make a start soon or we won't have any decorations up.
I have found a coat that is too big for me and some magazines that I will see if my Mum wants, so that will be a few more things out...0
