The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

Hi Folks. I think I mentioned about two weeks ago that I was going to start my pre-Christmas clean - I didn't! So here's my list to keep me motivated:
Wash down doors.
Clean skirtings.
Pull out fridge/freezer and find out what's lurking there - yeuch!
Clean windows.
Declutter freezer (there may be some slightly odd meals!) so that I can clean it and there's room for the turkey!
Find new home for towels so that OH can fit in more furniture from MIL's house! (It is either that or my bookcase has to go!!)
There's also a list of half finished DIY things for OH to do. I subtly left a list on the fridge thinking that this might cause less arguments but so far no DIY has been done so assuming list is being ignored. OH's excuse is that out at work all day - AND??!! aren't we all. (Obvs I'm not today - public holiday - but I'm going to be v. busy once I finish this post!)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Bins we're emptied yesterday yipeee so I can start a bit more de-cluttering, sold 3 large wicker baskets, 2 have sold so they will be posted out tomorrow, bike has been collected and need to parcel up a few bits sold on Ebay.
Also decluttered some old gold, 2 pairs of earrings and an odd one, small locket on thin chain and ring - they weren't expensive but got £93 for them so was pleased- all going into the pot.
Next job at some point is to photograph the suitcases of mine that are the big hardbodied carlton ones and get those listed.0 -
Well hello again
I haven't been here for a while
. Last Tuesday night MiL and I snapped and started on DH about the state of the hallway. He was saying that it needed to stay as it was for another couple of years (it was like a squat ) and I said I wasn't having that. It's the first part of the house anyone sees and they think that we live like that. So, Wednesday morning, MiL and I stripped the hall. Thursday, I painted it with 3 coats of white paint. Friday I filled all the holes that got shown up by the white paint. Saturday we wallpapered the walls with a textured paper. It now looks lovely in there and is nice and tidy

Well hello again
I haven't been here for a while
.
I haven't either Kaz2904!
Today 54 cds/dvds have been collected to go to music magpie - some were mine, but most were OH's, hopefully that will go smoothly! First time I've tried this. So even though OH has brought a few old videos from his parents house, we are still lighter from that point of view :T
I do have a bag filling up in the hallway to go to charity - we have a new shop to replace our old charity shop in the village :T
A few weeks ago we managed a fire to burn a whole load of papers.
Managed to clear the hallway to get the christmas decorations out (although tbh most of the stuff has just been moved not thrown, but did get rid of some papers/mail that were accumulating)
Also have decluttered a few cobwebs from upstairs and degrimed part (!) of the kitchen floor!

I am going to get things sorted for tomorrow as we are running out of space to move and there are lots of things that could go direct to the dump or back to family members that we have borrowed them from. I also have a lot of paperwork that can go back to work instead of here.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
