Hi,
Can I join please?
I have been on MSE for about 4 years and although I recently became debt free and some areas of my life have improved massively my tidiness and organisation have not. It is making me so depressed. I worry about losing things, forgetting things and am utterly FED UP with my lack of filing and the mess the house is in.
I am sitting here now, having cleared my bed of the shopping brought today, ignoring the work I have brought home and the parcels I have received during the week which I have left unopened. My whinge is I have no where to put anything but in actual fact that is a lie, I am just SO all over the place.....I don't need to buy anything I just need to get my !!!! together and get rid of stuff.
So what do I do (have only read the last 7 or so pages)
Thanks

Got rid of an old coat to recycling today &
lots of cardboard
Tonight - about 2 hours ago i decided i wanted to make a start on sorting out my kitchen cupboards so:
sorted out 3 cupboards-mortified to say there was about a dozen really out of date packets of 'stuff' gone in bin and 3 part bags of flour and a carrier bag full of rubbish.
Cleaned out and defrosted fridge freezer today too!
Just as an aside, we decided to do some shopping at Aldi today-so we got 2 large carrier bags of shopping for just over £20. My lovely OH said he'd buy me a coffee, we went to Druckers and it cost nearly £11 for 2 coffees and 2 pieces of cake. If I'd realized he was going to spend so much i could have got an extra bag of shopping instead!! But it was lovely of him (even though they were trying to rush us in the end because they wanted to close )GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Buffy, i can so relate to this-I could have written your post myself (apart from the totally debt free bit-lol)
i'm so disorganized, I have so much stuff-I really nead to get my ar*e in gear too and de-junk the house so we have more space, then everything would probably fit. I sorted out 2 bags of clothes for charity last week but they haven't gone anywhere, just in the corner of my bedroom creating more clutter!! :eek:GE 36 *MFD may 2043

We all start somewhere - or in my case I start, stop for ages, then start again. I take great comfort from the original, American Flylady - "you can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes", and "your home did not get cluttered overnight, so won't get decluttered overnight". It's amazing how comforting these sayings can be when looking around my "palace" (ahem)! I'm constantly surprising myself with how much stuff I can clear in those magical 15 minutes...or during an ad break...or waiting for the kettle to boil!
But on the positive side - so long as there's somewhere for everyone to sit, I've had some really positive comments from visitors: "oh good, we don't have to feel we're putting something down in the wrong place" and "this feels like home immediately" - which just goes to show how many of us there really are!0 -

So the usual stuff trying to recycle/donate/sell/freecycle as much as possible as we go.

I've so far:
1.2.3. Recycling, yucky out of date stuff from kitchen (recycling)
4.5. Old plastic storage containers (donate)
5 down, 25 to go!!!!

Hi,
I'd like to join this thread if that's ok! I'm not doing great at keeping my house in order, Everything just gets moved from room to room in piles and the piles just get bigger. It gets me down a lot and causes many arguments with OH so i'm determined for it to be one less worry!! Any suggestions on how to start?? Do i make a list?i already do some flyladying to attempt a tidy up.
Tink xDebt to clear: feels endless...
Weight loss to go: 42lb/13.5lb
Maybe someday i'll be skinny, organised and debt free..
