Can I just add to what Kaz said about the No Buying (un-needed) Toiletries thread? It's my favourite thread on here by a huge stretch, so friendly and supportive. It's great the way it encourages you to take the best care you can of yourself without breaking the bank.
Back on topic - tackled my tutoring in community storage boxes earlier (well some of them) now that tutoring in community has finished for the summer.
I found the instruction booklet for my central heating timer, a huge pile of unused envelopes, two lubricant sprays for my trike, a set of lights for the same, an unopened bottle of energy drink and a packet of painkillers.... Ah. That's where they all went.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
well its day 2 of my clean. today - the kids room!!
im gonna dismantle DS2s cot and get him big boy bed ready. he slept fine in the bed at my parents caravan last night and he has done it twice before when i tried him last time in the bed so im determined to get him into it properly this time.
its the perfect time to do it too coz its the summer holidays and we dont have nursery to get up for and i dont want to do it once DS1 starts school in august so its "now or never"
first off im away to the shop for something for breakfast! i just realised i have nothing except cereal and i forgot to bake bread the other day lol.Countdown to Discharge Is On!

I'm currently doing some decluttering and have made £40 off of music magpie for old CDs, DVDs and Games... infact i have a whole new shelf to store other things that were piled up on the floor now.
I have made £45 off of Mazuma for selling 2 old mobiles... £45 off of Asda Tech recycle for my ipod touch, sold my exercise bike for £20 and some DVDs for £5.
I currently have about 5 items on ebay also but i know i will put a few more on..
I just need to go through my bookcase now and clean up the floor in my room which i dare say i will find plenty of stuff in...Currently doing the 100 day challenge, and trying to read all the books i own before buying any more challenge.
I've saved £175 so far this month just in selling old items on various websites & Saving coppers!!0 -
Evening all,
Great to see lots of decluttering, woo hoo!
Who's up for a mini challenge this weekend? Say get rid of 30 things this weekend (starting any time you like, it's not cheating). I did so well last year (erm about 1,700 things...) but things are still not straight.
So the usual stuff trying to recycle/donate/sell/freecycle as much as possible as we go.
:j:jDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Sue, the paperwork may have been a pain but you could have got off lightly!
I have got off lightly, but only because we had a major clearout at his house when he was in hospital about 18 months ago, and he finally agreed to apply to the council to move into a smaller place.
At the time he gave me permission to get rid of anything he wasn't going to need, and because his house was such a mess, social services sent in a cleaning team to help us clean and clear the house. We got rid of all his extra furniture, as we knew he wouldn't be able to take it if he was moving from a 3 bed house into a 1 bed flat, and also got rid of loads of other stuff he hadn't used in years, and would probably never use again.
I didn't have time to go through his paperwork then, but when we were getting him packed up to move, I put it all into bags and brought it back to our house to go through it and I've only kept important stuff, most of it has been in drawers etc for years, so I don't think he would have a clue what was in there. I'm surprised at how much stuff my dad has got rid of during and after the move, he keeps saying he has a lot more room in the flat, but he doesn't realise it's mostly because he has a lot less clutter now, lol!
While going through the paperwork, I've also found a lot of stuff that was my mum's, (family documents and photos) which I promised her I would keep after she died, so I can now keep that promise.
Anyway, we've almost finished sorting his garden, (just need to go round for a couple of hours on Saturday to finish the last bit) and from tomorrow I am off work for 10 days, so I'm determined to get lots of de-cluttering and cleaning done, also have an ironing mountain to tackle, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I have been off work this week since my mum has visited us this week. I have managed to catch up with all washing and now one of our winter coats is hanging on the washing line to dry. Rain is forecasted for the next few days so wont be doing anymore washing for a few days. This week I have also managed to do the wood logs from our shredded paper, we have done 4 so far and we have filled up another bucket with water and shredded water to do the next logs in a week or so.
This weekend I am planning to do all the ironing and coninue to sort out the garden. An old bedside cabinett will be emptied and then be taken to the tip, the cabinett is literally falling apart.
good luck to everyone this weekendNo toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

well the kids are back and after less than 20 mins had started pulling out jigsaws!!
and ive sorted DS2s bed ready for his first night in his bed here since the disasterous last attempt. i have wine in the fridge ready incase its that kinda night!
my parents have knackered them and they are both grumpy today so i think its going to be tea between half 4 and 5, bath and bed around 6. they can hardly keep their eyes open right now and i need the night to sort out the washing and stuff.
dunno whether i should have tea with them in case DS2 is a pain with the bed or whether i should wait and have it afterwards bearing in mind that i might end up not having something proper coz ill be camped out outside their room to save me climbing the stairs every 5 mins!Countdown to Discharge Is On!
