    Evening all,

Great to see lots of decluttering, woo hoo!

Who's up for a mini challenge this weekend? Say get rid of 30 things this weekend (starting any time you like, it's not cheating). I did so well last year (erm about 1,700 things...) but things are still not straight.

So the usual stuff trying to recycle/donate/sell/freecycle as much as possible as we go.

    :j:j

I will take on that challenge! Not too much time over the weekend but i bet i can sort 30 things to go. A sort through my underwear drawer may make up those 30 items!!

I went through my underwear drawer a while ago and I remember there was a post with information where you could send your old bra's to. Has anyone got that information handy? If so, there will be 5 or 6 item that I could declutter.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

I am going to do a mini challenge over the weekend - cleaning and decluttering the dreaded cupboardunderthesink in the kitchen (I have to say it fast or I will be too scared to do it!) it's full of cleaning stuff/rags/odd socks and random things I don't know what to do with! So it will be sparkling and organised by Sunday evening! I will also look for 25 more items to go into the charity bag.

I'm pleased to report that I did clean and declutter the cupboard under the sink last weekend. However, I only found four things to go into the charity bag. This weekend, I will be concentrating on Ebay selling as it's free listing again.

    Totals for this week:

    In

    Two books
    Computer monitor
    DVD
    Tshirt
    Three microfibre cloths

    Out

Charity bag taken to animal rescue shop
Six cardboard boxes and ten glass jars recycled
OH got rid of some old paint tins and assorted rubbish from the shed
    One Ebay parcel posted

    Pending Out

New charity bag started - added to it so far is a dress, computer game, brooch and a decorative glass.

Finally posted an ebay parcel yesterday, I’d been waiting about a month for payment, but he did let me know that he was having problems paying, due to his wages not going into his account for some reason.

Been hacking down with rain all day here, so no gardening done at my dad’s after all, but we did go round to put some bits up on the wall for him. We’ve given him 2 of our old garden chairs and our old kitchen clock, and I’ve also taken a bag of his laundry back to him.

I’ve ironed a small pile from the mountain, but still loads to do. We’re supposed to be going to a bbq tonight, can’t see it happening if this rain keeps up, but we will still be going out tonight regardless, and we’re out tomorrow, so I probably won’t get any ironing done until at least Monday, apart from OH’s work clothes which I will do tomorrow night. Only other ‘out’ today was the normal recycling, which OH took to the recycling centre this morning.

Pending out - 173 items re-listed on ebay, hope we sell a bit more this time.

Everyone seems to be doing so well in both big and small steps :) Because of the beautiful weather we've had today we've had a lazy morning and a productive afternoon. We've all been in the playroom which houses 95% of the kids toys and OH's DVDs and overspill blu-ray collection plus other bits and pieces. We went through each section at a time and decided what they wanted to get rid of and then put everything they wanted to keep in a suitable place. We've got 2 big bookcases (1 deep), a smaller deep shelfed case for jigsaws etc and one of those storage unit things with fabric boxes for their barbies, my little ponies and bits and pieces etc. It's a bit of a struggle sometimes to keep it tidy (ok, a lot of a struggle lol) and we've said this time that things are not just to be dumped in their but put away otherwise we will assume they are no longer wanted and will send them to a charity shop. Hopefully that will motivate them to keep things tidy in there!

So we now have about 10 books, 5 dvds and some small toys and bits. There were also a few small broken bits chucked and bits of paper and old chocolate tins that were battered that we recycled. We are part way through sorting out their craft stuff. DD2 will keep every scrap of paper she's scribbled on if you let her, but DD1 has got much better over the past year and will get recycle old pictures etc. OH went through his dvds and blu-rays in the playroom and found a few more to sell.

I've just relisted several items on ebay and have some more to list probably tomorrow night. I have one small ebay parcel to post on Monday too. On Thursday I had a mad cleaning and ironing day. I unpacked a box of books that has been sat in the conservatory since we moved here last February, recycled some clothes hangers from the tub also in the conservatory where I iron, and had a general tidy up in there. The living room also had a good going over and as every little thing gets done or tidied I feel better and better :)

Keep up the good work everyone!
