My ironing basket has exploded over the front room. I shouldn't be on here, I should be folding towels and sorting washing but I don't want to move. I have a headache and I'm tired :( I know that as soon as I get my lardy bum off the sofa, I'll feel fine :o

Hi all - been away for a few weeks so not posted. You all seem to be very motivated - especially with this good weather (fingers crossed) Here's my list so far.
Sunday - arrived home 3am & slept 'till about 7.30 (couldn't sleep any longer!) Unpacked cases, put stuff away and sorted washing into piles for Monday
    Monday - Washing Washing Washing
Tuesday -hit the garden lots of deadheading etc & pulled up all the old Leeks, rescued the ones that looked OK
Wednesday - went shopping with friend for her daughters graduation but came home & DH had cleared the ironing basket (do love that man) planted carrots, radish & broad beans & bought 2 mini cucumbers for the greenhouse (hope I have better luck this year)
Thursday - we're having a major revamp of the sitting room & DH GOT RID OF 82 VHS CASSETTES ON FREECYCLE (these were the ones I couldn't transfer to DVD ;))- 4 pints of leek & potato soup for the freezer

Hope you feel better soon Mingle & good luck with your exam tomorrow
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I have done nothing today :o. I just am so sluggish but I'll try to get started in a minute. I hate working one of night shifts because it throws out 3 days for me.

Managed to get rid of the "spare"washing machine I had yesterday evening
(don't ask) - but have in its place taken in a poor small freezer that needed a new home.:o
I have a huge chest freezer but I can not longer afford to keep it stocked up(even with bread) and when I do I seem to end up finding food from a year or so ago or it has freezer burn - so am thinking need to keep a smaller one full that I use stuff up quicker and it then would be cheaper to run..............I think:o:o.

Oooh, how exciting, are you getting chickens? Don't let their eggs become clutter, send them my way :D.

Yes, we're getting four chickens. :) Already have a massive list of people asking for eggs and we haven't even built the hen house or run yet!

Good luck with getting your tiling done speedily Kaz and good luck to Mingle for your exam.

OH came home from work very pleased with himself today as a guy he'd been waiting to get back to him had come into work today to buy a couple of boxes of DVDs (105 I think!) and Blu-Rays and we now have £200 to put in the bank :D
Of the things that were ending tonight on ebay I've sold 8. Nothing majorly expensive, but all the pennies add up. DD1's friend is coming for tea tomorrow night so I need to spruce up the living room so me and her mum can have a natter over a cuppa without me feeling like I have to apologise for the untidiness.
Recycled a few bits out of the basket on the kitchen side, paid the car tax online so filed the form away too. Apart from putting washing on and washing up haven't done a great deal today.

PS Good luck with your exam Mingle, hope you feel better soon :)

Before I started de-cluttering I had (among many other things), about 10 carrier bags of paperwork, (letters, bills, statements etc), which were on the floor in front of the radiator in our bedroom, and since finding the lovely people on this forum and being inspired to de-clutter, I have gradually cleared most of it. The last bag, was left there for a few months, then a couple of months ago I put it into a storage tub, which was stacked under another two tubs, so at least it wasn’t visible until I got around to sorting it.

This morning I promised myself that I would finally sort it, and when I got home from work I spent 3 hours doing so, until I ran out of time and my back started hurting. I’ve still got a few bits to go through, which I’ve put back in the tub for now, but I got most of it filed, and also had a pile of stuff for shredding/recycling, and have 35 used envelopes to take to work for internal post. Also finished a bottle of hand sanitizer and a body spray, and put the containers in for recycling.

I now have to help my dad sort out his house, as I got a call from the council today saying that they have a sheltered housing flat for him, which will be ready in about 2 weeks. Although it will be a lot of work, I can’t wait for him to move as I won’t have to worry about him falling down the stairs when he’s living in a ground floor flat, also he might be able to cope better with keeping it clean and tidy when he’s in a smaller place.

    Afternoon all

Hurrah! Managed to find two corners of my kitchen this morning that have been hiding under mountains of random stuff and kitchenallia.

Having brought in the under counter freezer the other day I thought best to move it from the middle of the kitchen where it has been sat since I dumped it there to .........under the counter! But had to sort this corner first.

    So out went

Huge bag of glass for recycling
Dead & Dying veg into the bin
    empty plastic cartons into recycling

And I found my "posh" under chargers and coasters behind it all too:T.And brought out my wine making kit and put it where it will prompt me to start making wine again.

So now Freezer sat in its new home - big tick.

Then just by the doorway I have had a collection of keepables(for the moment) that needed to go in my loft in my hallway - so I got out the ladders and put it away in a fairly organised way in the loft.Just need to put ladders back thats all.

So now you can actually get into my kitchen without falling over the stuff that was in the doorway and knocking yourself out on a freezer!

    Big tick no.2:T

That's great debbiedeejay, sounds like you're making lots of progress there.

I've sold a mini cosmetic thing today so that's an out and £2 into my piggy bank!

Need to get on with some general stuff this weekend, ironing, tidying up the kitchen, accounts etc as neglected it a bit this week so jobs for tonight and hopefully OH tomorrow when I'm out for the day.

Then need to sort some stuff out I'd identified to sell and list that in a couple of places, do some gardening stuff and more sewing!
