Right, i am in much better spirits now. Had a sit down with OH, communication is key, and we now understand where each other are. just have work to tackle...
Took a bag full of bits to international Womens day - a friend of mine had a stall there. then spent sat night going through all of my clothes. came out of my bedroom with one big bin bag full. i was quite ruthless. these are now going to charity shop (i dont have patience to put them on ebay and dont think they would sell at car boot?). i also saved two pairs of trousers who's bottoms had been destroyed by turning them into 3/4 lengths. i struggle to find trousers that fit both in the waist and leg?! and i have turned a hooded jacket i love but cant stand the sleeves (which are too short) into a gillet by removing the arms. OH has also agreed to go through his clothes, and i have told him i will get him some new clothes for his birthday.
not bad for the weekend - in between visiting in-laws, visiting hospital, going into work on a day off, going swimming and teaching LO how to ride his bike....
Hope everyone else is doing ok with their decluttering and life in general.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Glad to see everyone else is still doing well
I know what you mean about losing your decluttering mojo a bit - I find that if I think of a charity really close to my heart (a hospice or an animal charity) that I'm more ruthless. I also find that if I find a bag to fill - once I've started then I find more energy.
While you have so much improvement stuff going on in the house - maybe go for areas such as kitchen drawers, upstairs cupboard, shoes, toiletries, bathroom cabinet.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Eventful afternoon chez moi. Hubby decided to try and reduce the shredded paper mountain by burning it. Hmmm cunning plan apart from fact that the fool put it in a plastic container and then put container on plastic patio table against the garage...
What on earth possessed him to have such a moment of madness I will never know. Anyway have now decluttered a perfectly good patio table and garage guttering.
Fortunately, garage is still standing and still awaits a more sedate decluttering later in the year. Can't wait til he moans about the people he works with having no common sense!
OH DEAR. i hope everything is ok. Have you thought of putting your shredded paper onto freecycle for rabbit/hamster/etc bedding?DFBX2016 #160 - £3550/£8800

keggie - I'm glad your house is still standing after your DH did that LOL
I've decluttered a jacket, and some paperwork which was sitting in the letter rack (DH puts things there when he can't think what to do with them *sigh*).Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

That is a good idea for motivation about the charity. I give my stuff to a local independant charity shop, the cause isn't particularly close to my heart but I give to them because they are 2 mins walk away from my house and as they only have one shop I know that everything I donate will end u in this shop rather then sent off to a warehouse and re-distributed. Sounds odd but I have always wanted to see something I donated in a charity shop window! Plus I like it when I donate 'good' stuff and I know someone local will be able to buy it rather then the possibility of it being sent off to a shop in a reasonably well off area if you see what I mean!
Your right about focusing on small areas, I think I will do some work on the kitchen later - I need to de-clutter to make up for the decreased storage space!
How long would everyone wait for a reply from a freecycler? I replied to a wanted ad a couple of days ago offering my kitchen unit and wonder how long I should wait for a reply before posting a 'offered' ad? I know it's only been a couple of days but it's really in the way in my kitchen!0 -
Sounds like a plan FP! Go for it. On the freecycle front - I'd put up the Offer now. I've replied to wanteds and sadly not everyone replies. :A
