PenPen's 100 in 10 Challenge - part 2
Day 3; Mon
21. DD's craft box tidied and old stuff chciked or recycled
22. OOD Argos catalogue recycled
23. cracked plate to DD for her textiles project - she told me enigmatically that she's intending to "sew it" :rotfl:
24. OOD holiday brichures to recycling
25.
Actually that makes sense to me - probably cos I've got a daughter doing GCSE Art Textiles
Ooooh thanks for the reminder.........Argos book off to the recycle bin soon!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -

LOL - someone who understands :j She's doing BTEC at Art College with a view to a Degree, starting this year, in Costume design
I also have a son doing GCSE art; I have wax all over my kitchen where he's been making moulds, like Anthony Gormley :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Does anyone have any ideas what to do with a couple of old duvets? I don't like the idea of them going to landfill, but they are not really good enough for a charity shop?0

2manybooks - I feel your pain. Our most cluttered room is our office which is filled with 100's (if not 1000's!
) of books. My husband has always insisted we would never get rid of any books at all, but just last month he has relented and decided he could probably send a few to the CS :j.
Got a few things cleared this weekend:
- 2 large boxes of garage storage shelves/hooks - Put up on the wall of the garage and filled with tools already.
- A few catalogues and magazines - Recycled
- A pile of junk mail and receipts from the kitchen table - Shredded/Recycled
- Used some left over wallpaper boarder to cover a small shoe box. Into this I have emptied all DD's packets of crayons which seemed to be in every drawer and cupboard. - Empty packets, thrown away.
EDIT: Forgot about these:
- Borrowed fridge (whilst ours was repaired) - Returned to owner
- Borrowed Travel cot - Returned to owner
- DD's ride on car toy - taken to in-laws house as they have more room for her to play with it.
We have found some more things to put on ebay later.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Long story but one is my unworn wedding dress....this is the 4th time i've put it on and if it doesn't sell this time i'm going to put it on Preloved. Has anyone else used this site? xxx
Nattyt - I've used Preloved quite a few times & been fairly successful especially with things that have been too big to send by post. I've also used Freeads which I prefer for some things as Preloved only let you post 1 pic but Freeads you can post up to 10 I think & both are free sites - so you just need to decide which one is best suited (or both)
I managed to list about half a dozen things on ebay 'cos everyone was talking about the free listing weekend. There's 5 pairs of shoes (one pair with a watcher :j) and some drill thingy's of DH with an offer and 7 watchers so am quite hopeful. I'm not really a 'bayer' as I mostly prefer Preloved & Freeads but its worth a try - fingers crossed and room for more shoes?:rotfl:Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
No decluttering been going on here for a few days. Had a day off work on Friday and then spent my long weekend feeling ill
Why do I always get ill when I have a days holiday?
I am working today but really don`t feel up to it.
Am going to try and get back to my 30 mins declutter of my workstuff. When that is sorted it`s on to the magazine rack sitting under the kitchen table.
Then on to tackle the ironing mountain on one of the kitchen chairs.
Have a good and productive day everyone.0 -

Do you have a freegle or freecycle group in your area? People like old duvets for bedding for big dogs, or to use while whelping. They get destroyed of course, but does ensure they get used again before going to the tip.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0

That's exactly what my daughter wants to do. Although it probably means she'll have to move down to London as it seems all the good degree courses for costume design are there.
I keep telling her that her bedroom looks like a sweatshop, with the huge table covered in fabrics and sketchings, paint bottles everywhere and the sewing machine permanently set up. But she's happy, so I just leave her to it as long as I can see the floor to hoover!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Not much de-cluttering done Fri/Sat, but got myself into gear last night.
* have now filled 6 black bags with paper shredding, only a wee bit more to go. Yay!
* nearly up-to-date with my washing, only one more load to go in machine, which I'll turn on this evening.
* small (well small for me) pile of ironing to be done - WILL do today.
* Various paper to be filed away - should be started today.
Can't believe I've missed so much. Keep up the good work and happy belated birthday to cat04.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017
Weight loss the old style way challenge - 7/14lbs :j0
