Right, everything has gone now. 12 bags of rubbish, 3 to CS, one to thrift shop and other odds and ends to the tip as well. I bought a set of 3 yankee candles and 2 packs of Yankee airfreshener refills but think I'll get away with that (especially as the Baby Powder scent is being discontinued so need to stock up!) We also went to F&B's for our breakfast treat too.
Once again, thanks for all your inspiration! :)

How does a thrift shop differ from a charity shop??

    Happy Birthday Cat04 :j

How rude of me! I forgot to say happy birthday to you Cat04.
I now have 11 items on ebay. 1 item has 8 watchers so I hope it will fetch a reasonable amount. 2 other items have 1 watcher each.
I have an in coming soon, I bought a pandora bracelet and spacer last night from the link on grabbit as my lovely MiL bought me a bead for Christmas but I didn't have a bracelet. The kids will be giving me them for mothers day and birthday as both are close together this year.
Off for a bath in a moment but I ought to continue listing. I may just do that AFTER my bath though :D

Hi all, well I havent been on as I've not been that well lately :(, loads of migraines  and had to take a couple of days off work and stay in bed. Looks like most of it is vanity ;) ... I'm supposed to wear my specs all the time and haven't been doing it ... only been wearing them for driving ... and I spend all day on a computer so it's not been helping ... so specs are on all the time now and I'm limiting my computer time at home :rotfl: ... but the great decluttering has continued, at a much slower pace but I have 3 days off next week so hopefully I'll get loads done as I'm only working monday and tuesday :j ... so glad recess is at the same time as the school hols for me! so here is my up to date list of what has left my house so far!!!!

    Day 1

1-6 - bags of carp for the bin
7 - bag of newspapers and mags for recycling
8 - one pile of shredding from hubby
9 - box of cardboard for recycling
10 - broken tv to recycling centre
11-13 - another couple of bags of plastic for recycling centre

    Day 2

14-15 - 2 bags of carp from car
16-19 - 4 big envelopes of junk mail for survey company

    Day 3

20 - christmas tree finally back in attic
21 - spare tv in attic
22 - bag of carp for bin from DD1's room
23 - bag of carp from my bedroom
24-30 - 7 baskets of clean washing put away (finally)!
31 - bag of carp from living room/hallway/stairs:D

    Day 4

32-34 - another 3 bags of carp from the car
35-37 - 3 bags to the charity shop
38-40 - 3 bags of carp for the bin

Hopefully tomorrow another load of carp will go down to the recycling centre. Unfortunately this week has brought a big bag of sawdust, hay and rabbit food, but hopefully the barmy bunny will soon be going outside in its own hutch as its keeping us all awake at night ... noisy little beggar that it is :rotfl:

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Yesterday went far too fast and I did do some useful jobs but not all I'd planned to do. Then the 'sleepover' happened and we popped into town after OH picked me up and I got home about 6 totally shattered from a couple of hours sleep and a desperate need for caffeine (decaf tea didn't have a good reception with me!)

Anyway night flopped on the settee tonight but will continue with my plans tomorrow I hope.

    In:
Some fabric and thread for my cushion but couldn't find anywhere to buy the cushion pad or more threads (all 4 places sold Anchor, I wanted DMC) will try the range for a cushion pad on Monday otherwise it's the internet.
Cheque from H*tton G*rden Metals for my silver I sent the other week - that was fast!
Bit of food shopping ans some prescriptions.

    Out:
The recycling bin in the living room is quite full, did a bit of shredding too
Paid coppers/silver into bank, a cheque and did Guide banking too
    2 Cosmetic products today.

Right off to get some sleep in the hope I have a productive day tomorrow.

A thrift shop will sell the items for me for a percentage of the price. They sell them dirt cheap though so won't be as much as I'd get on ebay but have gone off selling on there recently. Just less hassle.

2 Charity bags sat by the front door ready for them to be collected in the morning, just found some if DS's cups in the kitchen which they have grown out of so this could be the start of bag number 3!!!!!
  • Yesterday, I decluttered under bed storage for the spare bedroom.
Also managed to convince OH that his wardrobe does need to be sorted and decluttered after his usual " there is nothing here that I need to get rid of"
We managed to fill 1 bag for charity shop with his stuff:j

  • What a lovely post. I've got a new cleaner starting next week (alas, I am not wealthy, just disabled) and I want to try and get things decluttered for her.
You may notice my signature about the Pink Rose Candle. In decluttering I am employing Pink Rose Candle Philosophy, which is using up the nice things I have to make me feel good.
The bathroom is starting to look less cluttered as is the bedroom. I've realised I won't have to buy shampoo or body lotion (excluding body butter) this year. I also intend using up the bubble bath that would otherwise be lying around for ages - I don't bath, I shower but you can use bubble bath as shower gel if you pour it on to a body puff.

Thanks mcculloch29. I agree with you on the PRC Philosophy. I know it can be sad if something gets worn out or breaks that has sentimental value, but I think it's better to have used it and got some pleasure from it.

I was ill last year and now I'm better it's really focussed my mind on the things that are important to me and all the stuff I've gathered is generally not that high up on the importance scale.

I've gathered loads of books over the years and now I can see them all (almost:)) I realise how many I haven't read or don't need any more. Sosome of themwill be off to make others happy.

Today I've got rid of 10 videos, 10 cassettes, 3 ring binders and a game.

    Happy decluttering everyone.
  • ...happy birthday for yesterday Cat04 - hope you are better soon. I've only just caught up with yesterdays posts:)
