Happy :bdaycake:Birthday Cat04
Sorry you are feeling under the weather esp since its your b'day - Take care of yourself and hopefully you can de clutter the bugs instead of the house this weekend instead:)
I managed to de clutter the stationary "got no home so put it in there" cupboard in the kitchen yesterday - sending ood mint sweets (them with the hole) to a friend for her horses and a can into recycle. Some paperwork to be recycled, and camping stuff back with the tent.
But today has been a no show on the de cluttering front - seemed to have lost my mojo for some reason.Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

The lounge was untidy and she threw her keys down and walked out, having told me that no cleaner would agree to clean my house and she wasn't going to.
As I said, the new cleaner starts Tuesday. She is lovely and I'm just coming round to realising I was being bullied.
Your post didn't sound callous - you are well rid of her, fancy telling you to tidy up, flipping cheek.
My ex bf's mum used to come and clean our house - I didn't want her to but he said she needed something to do because she was unwell and couldnt work. She had this thing for washing - just loved it. But I felt like it was a massive criticism of my house. Finally put an end to that arrangement when she scrubbed the front of the cooker so hard (remembering I had only agreed to her doing the washing) that all the instructions and indications for which button came off....grrrr....to this day I still get annoyed because I can't now use anything on my cooker except the on and off buttons....got rid of the bf shortly after too....:T
Glad I'm not the only one feeling a bit fed up at the moment....solidarity is somehow comforting. Had a slow start then felt guilty so did some washing and cleaning and found my dining table - which had vanished under a pile of stuff some weeks ago! Then de-cluttered a packet of jaffa cakes....:)
I'm sooooo jealous of the people here with lofts!:DLess stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Cat 04 :bdaycake:
I hope there are people around to spoil you. Just minor decluttering for me, bought a gorgeous new kettle ( the one currently half price at T*sco) and will take the old one into work. We often have a dozen people needing tea or coffee at once, so this will make that possible.
If I remember, I'll also take some hand cream in for the ladies loos at work. I have so much of it. The thing is, I moisturise very thoroughly after my morning shower and use both the palms and backs of my hands. That means I don't have to slather them in hand cream afterwards.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Honestly,you're well shot of her!
I hope that the new one is more understanding.0 -
Good grief I've missed so much! I've been ill for what feels like forever, and apart from general recycling of unwanted post and food packaging etc I've done NO decluttering at all. Still feeling very rubbishy (and it's my birthday today too
). I really can't wait to declutter this viral infection and nasty cough so I can do more than 5 minutes before feeling breathless. Good to hear all the decluttering updates and hopefully will get back on track soon
Edit - Just realised it's free listing weekend on ebay - looks like I can justify sitting on my bum for much of the weekend lol
Happy Birthday cat04!
I heard a sweet story recently:a little boy was with his father visiting a sick relative. He asked his Dad 'why do people say 'Get Well Soon'?.Surely they should say 'Get Well Now'!
So,hope you get well now!0 -

Hope you are feeling better soon.
Managed to take 2 carrier bags of cookery books to cs, but i also had a new one delivered today, but in my defence it was a river cottage book.

Well, I eventually managed to list some things for free on ebay this afternoon. I did try just after midnight but it still wasn't playing!
I now have to get out the iron and ironing board so that I can iron another dress of DD's and get that listed too.
I've got some fairly expensive items to get listed so I hope they do sell (when I say expensive, I mean >£10!).
I shall have a root through my drawers and wardrobe as I KNOW there's a pair of trousers in there which don't fit, I bought them off ebay and they are massive so I will stick them back on. There's a matching top to them too which I might list but might not, I quite like it but don't really need it.
Just want to know if DH will let me list his electric guitar too.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
This morning OH took all our recycling to the recycling centre, and then he and I took all the charity boxes to the shop, had 6 boxes of stuff, plus the cassette storage case and its contents! I must admit I had a bit of a wobble with the last box, and almost kept it in case I would use the stuff that was in it, but then I decided that as I've not used the stuff for years, and probably never would, it had to go.
1 of the items in the box was a deep fat fryer, and I never fry chips now, always use oven chips, and even though I am now making my own oven chips, instead of buying them, I still don't need to use the fryer, so I decided there was no point in keeping it. Another item was a large insulated teapot, which my late mum bought me not long after I moved into my first home, and although we never make tea in a teapot nowadays, I have been reluctant to get rid of it because she bought it, daft really because I have much nicer things that she has bought me, and I didn't really like the teapot much anyway, lol!
I was very pleased with myself for letting the contents of the box go, and OH was over the moon to see how much space we now have in the shed! I am now listing a few bits on Ebay while OH watches the football, although he'll probably see most of it through his closed eyelids, lol, as he has a tendency to fall asleep as soon as he sits down, even if he is 'watching football'!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

 Thank you for all the lovely birthday and get well soon/now (!) messages
After spending the afternoon listing on ebay (:T) we went out for a lovely tea with the kids, and I have come home to find I already have 1 bid and watchers on several other items so will have decluttered at least one thing by next weekend
OH has put messages on several local groups on Facebook advertising his DVDs, which will hopefully clear some as he's only asking £1 each.
The kids have got half term in a weeks time and OH is off work on the Monday so we can hopefully make a start on the dreaded playroom at lastExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

A trip into the loft, and chatting with hubby whilst up there resulted in bringing down
a dozen boxes for things we no longer have/use (recycling)
boxes for two items we don't use and will sell
several years of old financial papers (shredding)
old NCT accounts from pre 2000 (shredding)
assorted genuine rubbish (bin)
had a rapid sort out - now have lots more space, have found a few misplaced items, and planned how to get rid of some more things next weekend.
car is full of rubbish & recycling - early dump trip tomorrow!
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0
