I so need to get de-cluttering so count me in as well. I'm one of the band who don't want to throw anything away because it might come in useful/could sell it on ebay (but never do) or could Freegle it. Having said that, in November hubby and I de-cluttered our spare room, with two football tables and about five bags of games, etc to the charity shop.

I really need to get the office sorted out. I have piles and piles of paperwork messing the place up and I want DS to have room to do his homework and GCSE revision properly.

I'm in. I will report back shortly, when I've made a start (probably tomorrow).

    Happy New Year!

In 2012 I pledge to:- Save £1 a day, meal plan, be more organised, have NSDs, set myself a budget AND STICK TO IT, throw all loose change into Sealed Pot and not open it till 29th November.:money:
  • thats a few bits on freecycle, loads for the tip and i just found more wool... how did i get so much stuff
  • Found two more things to put on ebay, and got rid of a load of paperwork out of the kitchen. Also found a big bag of pens (OH seems to pick up hundreds while at work), so those can be taken into work when I'm back on Tuesday as we always seem to be running out and they're getting a bit stingy with stationery since these local authority cuts were announced!

Have actually done a little bit today and started on our bedroom. :j
First was Hubby's bedside table and drawers (while he is in hospital):D
    out went -
half a bag of rubbish( for bin)
9 odd socks (for bin) (probably find the others tomorrow!)
2 manky looking T. shirts (local garage to use as rags)

    Also got rid of -
    3 cardboard boxes (recycling)
1 large old tatty tablecloth (local garage to use as rags)
    2 Christmas decorations. (c.s)

In all am pleased have made a start however small. My son is scrupulously tidy and every single room except his own sends him in to orbit. :rotfl:

Hope to do a bit more of the bedroom tomorrow, however will have to do things in small amounts so bedroom may take ages yet but it WILL be done.

  • I persuaded DH to take the three big bags to the CS this morning, so they've officially left the building!

Also gone is the bookshelf, an old swivel chair, some video tapes, an old computer mouse and some bedding. Three pictures and a giant Patrick Starfish (soft toy) for the CS - I've started a new bag!

I have a set of PC speakers ready to sell now, too.

Also piled up ready for a trip to the dump - some huge pieces of polystyrene packaging, some large flattened cardboard boxes and a set of broken bathroom scales.

It's been a great decluttering day!

Hi DD, you've been busy! In my local freecycle people often offer packaging and cardboard boxes for moving/people who ebay a lot. Just a thought. :A

    Well done Mineallmine!

I need to make room in my kitchen for all the sweetie tins I have accumulated.

I may do it as a New Year Clean so empty the cupboards, clean them all and put the items back in. My OH will then dictate how long they stay tidy :rotfl:.
Thanks c-c. Hope you're getting on ok!
So total so far is 206 + 35 bits above -- 241 things decluttered woo hoo! And a huge leap toward making the kitchen surfaces as decluttered as possible.
Keep up the good work everyone :j

Attacked the master bedroom today. One corner of clutter in particular. Amazing what was there:
21 x recycling and charity bits (inc mags, brochures, books, packaging)
    11 x bin bits

So that's another 32 things sorted. Bringing the total so far this week to...... 273! Plus I've created a space and now I'm thinking what to use that space for. Think makeup which is in an Elemis box and hairdryer. I still have another shelf so I need to decide what to put there. The joys of space!

273 is still short of my target of 500 things so I will do some more sorting shortly. Good to see a couple of charity bags building up again.

I've just this minute joined my local Freecycle group :D

The boxes were a weird shape, big, but shallow if you see what I mean, so I don't think they would have been any good for moving house boxes, but I'll remember that for next time I have some random large boxes.
