I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. What terrible news. He must know how much you love him, which will be a comfort to him.

Great news about your son's outings - hope he has a lovely time and enjoys developing his teamwork skills!

  • Good Morning. Feel better today and just going to deal with the sh*t of illness as it comes and help my aunt as much as I can manage.

Meal plan done for next week and when I go to pick up DD from work I will pop into Aldi's and get what I need. Should be a nice cheap week this week. I need a few things but mainly fruit and veggies and some basics. Need some munchies for the kids so will get them too. Luckily they like the cheapo snacks from aldi last time so that's good news for my purse :D.

2 loads of washing out on the line and just about to run round with the hoover. I'm going to iron this afternoon as I am now up to 2 baskets of the stuff :o.

I have about 30 items to put onto e-bay so I will iron what needs it out of that and get pics taken and load it up on Sunday night so that it has a full week. Oh well off I go to get on with it ;)

  • Went to Aldi's and again am amazed at the amount I get for my money in there. I need to work on sticking to my list though and stop adding extra stuff into my trolley :o. I was £30.22 which is pretty good and that included 2 multipacks of crisps, box of ice poles, 3 packs biscuits and 3 packs of sweets for munchies for the kids so it's all good. My original budget of £250 for groceries has gone and I am going to try and keep to my amended one of £300. Absolute nightmare when the kids are off though as they are always hungry, especially DS.

He's enjoying his sailing and whilst he wason the phone DD spoke to one of the volunteers about joining them as she wants to see hwat it is like working with children and she can put it on her uni C.V.

  • Welcome CW2 glad to have you on board. Poor soul reading through all my cr*p :o. I'm fine re uncle. My brother took my mum to see him tonight and I will take her through at the weekend. Apparently has lost piles of weight and hasn't even got the energy to talk to anyone. I thought he looked thin 2 weeks ago but he had assured me then that his appetite was getting better :( Obviously not. Just really sad and to be honest, and I know it may sound awful, I just hope it's quick for him and his family.

Anyway I lost 7.5lbs at slimming club tonight . I knew I had done well but wowsa!! That gets rid of the 5.5 I had put on :o plus another 2 so, nice one I say :D.

DS had a great day sailing today. He is exhausted but of course is arguing that he is not. He is lovely and brown and his hair is getting fairer by the day. He has also grown about 3 inches in the last couple of weeks. I had thought he would have a major growth spurt last summer but looks like it'll be this year.

So no other monies spent. I have about £30 left and will get about £30 for cleaning work at weekend so I should manage a wee payment this weekend. Not going to use it all as we are off to see Harry Potter tomorrow. This is already paid for but we will get a wee treat whilst we are there :D so I will need some cash.

  • Forgot to say that I had asked on freecycle for a half chest freezer as I never have enough freezer space but no replies so far. Was telling my friend about it on phone earlier and she said she has one that she was thinking of getting rid of. Fingers crossed that she will and I can have it :rotfl:.

Also it's DD's boyfriend's birthday this month and I won a voucher at Christmas for a tenner for a glasgow shopping centre so when DD said she was going there tonight I gave her the voucher and she has picked up a top for him :D. Am very pleased with that.

Sounds like a good day all round mse wise!

Know what you mean about hoping that it's quick for your uncle - I don't think that's awful at all, my dad had a terminal illness with no treatment or cure and he went 'before his time' according to the doctors, but tbh it was a complete blessing, and i'm sure loads of people would understand where you are coming from.

Well done on the weight loss, :T that's fab, fingers crossed for the freezer and hope Harry Potter is good, I haven't been able to watch it since the one with the giant spiders (one of the early ones I think) that scared the carp out of me! spiders eeugh
  • :rotfl:@ spiders. I must say loads of bits in the films scare me but I think they are fab. My kids were just a perfect age for Harry P and I used to read books before DD read them if I wasn't sure if they were suitable and I was hooked right from the start. We have gone to see all the films on day1 but DD going with her boyfriend to this one and not with DS and I ;). I know my place lol and it is way behind bf at the minute :rotfl:
