Hi
I had a fabulous night out last night with my friends. Great chat at home and then out to see a band who were pretty rubbish but got better as the vodka took effect :rotfl:.
Was wakened with lovely gifts from kids. Whilst sitting in bed eating chocs my mobile was beeping great guns so I eventually got my son to get it for me. Message on it from my friend to say her husband died at 6.30am this morning. I am devastated for her. We knew it was imminent and she was advised yesterday to get the last rites for him but it is still a massive shock. H eonly got 3 months from diagnosis and she is left with 2 kids. I am so so sad for them. Dreading work tomorrow as everyone will be so upset. I haven't called her yet as they have a massive family and she had said in another text that the house was jumping but I'll call tomorrow and arrange to go up. I am so sh*t at this type of thing.
Also the kids have been getting loads of childish backlash from their dad re changing their names. He threatend to not see them for a while. I just dont get it. He should be delighted that they even want to see him after all his shennanigans.
Had a lovely dinner at my mum's which my brother cooked for all the mums there.
Cr*p day and am going to bed in the hope tomorrow will be better. That said I could be in my friends shoes and burying a loved one. Life is sh*t sometimes.:(5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Feel better today. I have spoken a couple of times to my friend and she is doing okay although obviously totally devastated. I am happier now I have spoken to her.
Just checked my account and things are pretty bad . I need to put £25 into it just to pay all the bills this month. I still have DD's birthday gifts to buy but I am sure I will manage, we just cant eat for the rest of the month :rotfl:. I'll get there and not going to break my heart over not paying ARGOS off. I have managed to pay £488 since January over and above all my normal payments. I have end of April and end of May where I can pay another £100 each time and I will still clear the debt before the interest kicks in. I will manage that for sure
. So I will not complete the challenge I set myself but then I will just set another one and it will motivate me again to pay off extra. So it's all good.
I have already spent £77.49 from my grocery budget so far. I have set this again at £300 but am going to try and get in under that. Feeling pretty positive about it all again and wanting to crank it up again if I can . I hope you are all well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

oh dear not been here for days. It's been abit of a week to say the least. As I said a lovely friend's husband died and my best friend has been diagnosed with diabetes .
We had already decided tp join weight watchers as my weight journey had kind of faltered and this time due to the liver problems I just cant allow myself to slip again. I need to keep going. I have put some of the weight back on that I lost but have kept off over a stone. So both of us are now on a mission toget fit and healthy ASAP. Dunno if any of you watched 'dead fat' on telly the other night but by god it would scare the bejesus out of you . You only really think of fat as what you see around your butt or belly but lots of it collects around our organs on the inside of our body. It is gross and really scary. I know weight watchers is not exactly money saving but it will be life saving so I am going to spend the money I need to if it means I get fit.
Spends wise I am doing okay. Not saved as much as I would have liked with kids being off of school as DD has been there most days for study days so in addition to her lunch I have had to give her bus fares .
I have spent £176.20 so far on food . I am struggling majorly to keep this down. I cook from scratch 90% of the time. My one downfall though is that I hate cheap food. I am a food snob. I made a roasted veg soup today with butternut squash, peppers, chilli, garlic and other ingredients. Took me ages and then had to sieve it. Tastes quite sweet but I will have it tomorrow for lunch and see how it goes. Butternut squash is a !!!!! to peel though !!
Just watched Mamma Mia again and it was fab again. I hope everyone is well

Watched the last half of Mamma Mia too great film. Kids werent too impressed with my signing though!!
Good luck with WW im still in denial at the moment. I had a scan that told me I have 47% body fat   that should be a wake up.
At least you know your extra spends are on good food and not rubbish:j0 -
I have a strange day ahead of me. Strange morning come to that. Woke up to the dulcit tones of the police helicopter above my head. Apparently 2 men with rifles in the woods across from me were arrested. It's a Sunday morning for god sakes :rotfl:. We have had an exciting week here this week. Was in work the other day and the road home was closed due to a van with alleged explosives being found in a local garage. Bomb squad and everyone were involved inthat. But later that day the man who is thought to have been involved inthe bombing of that poor policeman in Ireland was arrested about half a mile from where I live. Locally we reckon the bomb scare was a ruse to enable the police to close all the roads and prevent his escape. All very exciting though.
So back to today. I am heading into my mum's for the afternoon with the kids. I am then heading to the chapel after dinner for my friends husbands funeral. I am then heading out for a night out with my brother and his friends as they are doing a 26 mile walk today for charity and it is ending in Balloch with a big shindig. So a mixed day of much jollity and deep sadness. Actual funeral is tomorrow.
I have a week off of work so I am very happy about that. I have just booked British Gas to come out and fix my heating, fix a light switch and sort out my toilet :rotfl:. All happening on Tuesday. Means I am stuk in the house but at least all the issues with everything will be fixed. The sun is shining today so its all good

Hi. Lovely wee night last night with my brother and some friends. Spent £30 though . Always the same when you get into company. That included a fiver sponsor mind you. I went out for lunch today to see 2 friends I havent seen in ages so that was really nice too, cost me a tenner mind you
. Really needed the company though as funeral was very intense and very very emotional. I am drained.
I thought with the kids being off of school I would have saved a fortune. Humph !! No chance. I have spent a fortune and it keeps on going. Oh well nowt I can do about it. Spent £4 on zumba tonight but thats all part of the health kick I need to follow so money well spent. I hope you are all well xx5 Year plan. Busy day today. I've had gas engineer in and he has fixed my broken radiator and serviced my heating. I've had electrician in and new light switch fitted. I've had plumber in who fixed my toilet and dyno rod here at the minute as drains are a bit choked. All covered by my gas services contract
. Hate paying it but so worth it when things go wrong and everything has gone wrong recently :rotfl:.
My son is away on a trip today but no cost to meas he is in a group at school for confidence building etc as he was being bullied and it has all been paid for. He had £10 of his own and I gave him a packed lunch and he was away quite happy. Had to give DD a £5 for school but there was no cost yesterday so not that bothered about that. No other spends and no other spends in the offing.
I can't remember if I said that I had phoned my MP with regards to the CSA but I eventually got a written reply fromthem today and the upshot is that since last June my ex has been on an enforcement order to pay £20 per week towards his old arrears and should be paying the kids £40 in addition to this. Obviously he has not done this so they are going to start additional enforcement against him. We will see if it helps . Lets put it this way I will not be holding my breath . I've actually enjoyed the peace of no kids today but am about to be surrounded again. No doubt my lovely clean house will be trashed within minutes :rotfl:.
Going to go a walk. I stay on a hill so it is a workout wherever I go.I have not walked properly for years, in fact ever !! but I really want to start. My brother amd sister in law have great days hill walking during the summer and I would love to get the kids and I involved. The exercise and the family time spent together would be great. I have the added advantage of many hills near me. In addition to that one of the things on my bucket list is to climb Ben Lomond so I need to work on my fitness to do that.
So all is well in my worl today and I hope it is in yours too. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

:j:j:j £140 on way from CSA :j:j:j. I called on spec today to see what was going on and it was sent yesterday
. I thought initially that I would pay it off of Argos but tbh if I did that then I would end up putting my DD's birthday onto a credit card so there's no point in that. I also have £27.50 to pay for DS's radio license so I can pay that too and get him a pair of walking boots. I should manage to reach the end of the month nicely then. Thank God
My next 100 day challenge starts on 24th April so I am going to set 2 targets- Argos £200
- SONY £365.73
The money to SONY is the amount I have put on the card in the last 2 months. Just ridiculous to be honest as it is 29% interest. I have just got DS to cut up my cards. If I really really need anything then I can get a 0% loan from my mum and I will NOT ask her unless it is an absolute emergency. Hopefully that will keep me on the straight and narrow.. Yet another lightbulb moment :rotfl:but I keep on plodding.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
