Hand Towel Kitten
Lay the hand towel out flat and fold it lengthwise, bringing each end to the center, but leaving about a half an inch gap at the center line. Roll the unfolded sides to the center of the towel.
Fold your roll in half and wrap an elastic band around to hold your kitten together . Gently pull the top two ends (one at a time) up, while pushing the center of the towel down ... very gently or you will have to start all over again. This makes the kitten's ears.
Wiggle the towel sections until you have a shape that looks like the finished kitten
To make kitty's whiskers, use a four inch lengths of ribbon (larger if your towel is oversized). You could also use a heavy thread instead of the ribbon for this. glue or sew these on .To make kitty's nose, glue together two white pompoms and one gray/black pompom. Squash them together with the glue so you have a shape that looks like a kitten nose.
Glue the nose directly on top of the whiskers that you created with ribbon To make kitty's tongue, cut a little piece of red felt glue your tongue just under the nose, but touching the underside of the nose pompoms.
Glue novelty eyes or buttons for kitty's eyes, tie a bow around kitty's neck and after you have tied the bow, remove the elastic band (the ribbon will now hold your kitty together).
embelish as you wish , i added bows and tiny silver bell round the neck ..
bells 24 for £1 in poundland , wedding section
cheapest hand towels ive found are in asda 2 for £1.20p:A official boots tart :A0 -
deefin - youy've put me to shame as I haven't even started yet !! It's all in my head but not getting done.:( Must get sorted.
Love the rudolph pegs and the pebbles, and teenage storage frame........brilliant idea:T In fact it all looke good:T
the teen storage frame is just an old pair of jeans i stapeled over the back of a frame i used some old duvet to pad it out a bit so badges ect could be easily pinned on , as you can see i tried to use any jeans parts that could actually be used for hanging / holding bits
i made this for a friends daughter for under her mirror so she could keep her make up / hair brushes ect in it as she didnt have room for a shelf
pebbles , a bag full for £1 @ poundland , and are just large glass pebbles , i used 3d paint to write on them and made a little storage bag
pet rocks are also a net full for £1 @ poundland garden section i just added googly eyes and some rubbits i then varnished over with clear nail varnish:A official boots tart :A0 -
Hi Everyone, this is the first time I've seen this thread but hopefully I've found you just in time.
Its my daughters birthday next weekend (always last minute me!) and I wanted to get her a keepsake/memory box..this type of thing http://www.freyadesign.co.uk/keepsakeboxes_girl.html
HOWEVER at £59 for a personalised version I thought I'd try and make my own...
I've bought a plain box off ebay for £20 and I am going to paint it white then I wanted to write her name and 'My keepsakes' or 'My secrets' and maybe paint a flower or heart type design.
This is where I need your help...how do I sign write it? Obviously if I did it freehand it could looke 'very' homemade so I would like to give a professional finish...any ideas??
Doing it myself will make it more special and personal but I have just got to find out how to do it lol...I have done loads of searches on the internet but can't find a solution to doing the writing in a professional looking way.
Thanks for any help
I would find a text you like on the computer, print out the message on some paper, and then trace it (or if it's already dark enough, turn the paper over, and trace it on the reverse with pencil), then turn it over again, place it on top of the box where you want your text, and again trace/follow the design on the right side, and the pencil on the reverse should have left an outline for you to follow with paint/marker pens, or whatever you are going to do your design in.
Another option, might be to use the PC to create a design, then cut it out using a craft knife, to make a stencil, and again use a pencil to mark out the design on your box.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Sarymclary you got there before I did! Mae the above would be super easy to transfer the writing you want onto the box.
Or like LJM said you could always use glitter letters from poundland or craft shop to spell out what you wish. That or find one of your friends who has lovely handwriting, there is always someone with better writing than mine and if I ask nicely they always oblige!I am the shoreline, but you're the sea... :heartsmil0 -
