If anyone wants to keep their kids occupied, get them to make one of these

I just made one from an Ikea catalogue and it takes quite a while but looks effective.

Typically I find this thread now after the festive season is finished. But I will try and follow and see if there is a link for 2012 started soon! Meanwhile I have linked all the way back to 2009, so that I can have a read on cold nights!, and get myself sewing, crafting etc etc.!

  • My niece is really into money saving and the gifts she got us all this year were wonderful, a handmade broach using vintage fabric and gift tags made from rail tickets from Paris, some really posh gunpowder green tea which she found in the discarded things outside a Brussels Cafe after closing and an oxfam book of postcards, all wrapped in French newspaper and decorated with ribbons, bows and hand made train ticket labels, really stunning, the use of the French newspapers was beautiful, she only used the sections which had lovely pictures on them. My son got a cookbook from oxfam and a small hand drawn cartoon book, which they had exchanged for playing a gig for one of their friends in Paris, alot of thought, very little money x
