They're not after making it easy. I applied for my Sony Amex Card. After filling in the form I was told thank you we have all your details but you need to call us now. So I ignored them. A few days later I got an email to say I was going to get a card. I got some bumf through the post but no card. Now I get a letter saying I have to sign for it. I must be in to receive it sometime between 8am and 6pm, and be able to provide proof of ID and signature. So a day of work to achieve that. Now I get a text to say I must also call them to confirm I've got the card. Give us chance! Why can't you just give it to me and then let me confim receipt. Isn't Chip and Pin supposed to protect against it going missing in the post. Anyway hopefully I'll get my 11,000 points and get the fancy MP3 player eventually. In time for Christmas at least. Yes I already know I have to call an 0870 number to claim it and no doubt will have to wait on hold for 3 hours and then be told it's plus £7.99 postage and packaging. They'll certainly be getting the card back cut up if they make it any more difficult. I'll probably have to use it within 5 minutes of actually getting my hands on it to qualify!

  • Hi there,
I'm a new convert to moneysavingexpert and this is my 1st post so sorry if it's not totally right.
Looking at the bmi baby credit card offer. I'm sure i've seen this offer or one very much like it featured on Watchdog as you couldn't actually get any flights...they all said unavailable.
It would have been a few months ago and i might be a bit hazy on the details, just thought someone might be able to check this out before I book my summer holiday around it...
    thanks,
    nat

I applied for a Sonycard Amex credit card after reading about it on the weekly email.
First offer was 11000 points then the link site came back with 8200 so in point of fact the minimum credit should have been 8200 pulsebeats.
I used the card and have sent off the full payment.
The statement showed only 2020 points so I queried it and was told that it would be updated to the correct figure
That was over a week ago and still no further points were added.
I assume that I am not alone !!!

I've just got a statement through from sony amex and it also shows just 2000 points awarded - I applied the day the article came out so should have got 11000 odd points - do I have to make a payment first?

just looking at the mbna master business card , I get 20000 destination miles with my first purchase and then 1 mile for every £1 spent thereafter . I currently spend approx £50-£80,000 per month through my business account on various kit on a debit card or cheque . Paying on this new credit card and then paying off the balance accrued staright away using my existing debit card will accrue enough air miles for me and my family to have free flights all year round !
Is this a no-brainer for someone in my position or am i missing something ( apart from the £65 year ) ????

just been looking through details of the destinations miles ..... and i will put my hands up to being a thicky . 1 destinations mile does not equate to 1 mile , however , and to give people a rough idea 50000 destinations miles will get 1 person to barbados and back .

Got the Sony Amex card (after ignoring the request to phone them) and used the MSE link to apply. Just got the first statement and also only got credited qith 2000 points. How many other people have had this experience and does it resolve itself or do you have to phone them the claim the full points?
    Awaiting a new sig
