    Now I find Ciate stays unchipped on me for days - I love their Paparazzi colour which is sadly discontinued and I'm down to my last bottle. :o

    I was very disappointed with the staying power of Essie

    My favourite cheapie is Bourjois. Lovely colours and it lasts well on me.

    In the spirit of Money Saving, I must recommend Asda nail varnishes. The bottles are small, but the price is only £1.50 (or £1 if on offer). They look as good on my fingers as the more expensive brands (OPI was terrible on me, actually, and difficult to apply to boot), and are reasonably long-lasting. They do chip, but on me all varnishes do that...

    I love Leighton Denny nail colours and they seem to last for ages if applied correctly.

    I always use a base coat, two coats of colour and then always a top coat of Seche Vite which is amazing - it dries so quickly. Normally i can be getting dressed and doing normal things within 5 mins of putting this on as it dries so quickly and dries the colour underneath. I think it was £14 for 2 bottles. I tend to get all my Leighton Denny colours from QVC as they do great sets and can be a lot cheaper.

    Got to agree with you on Leighton Denny. I'm no expert on applying nail polish but find his polishes are amazing, rarely chip and his base coat/top coats fab. His miracle drops are the best thing ever though, dried nail polish in 45 seconds!:j

    What do you all keep your polishes in?? Someone I once knew kept hers in one of those old wooden wine box crate things and it seemed to be the right size for her collection....

    I love the Sinful sparkly topcoats teamed with a Jessica matching plain polish in a dark shade, then finished with a coat of clear varnish. This gives an almost 3D holographic look. The polish is touch dry quite quickly, but takes a while to properly harden.

    Once dry it is quite hard wearing, and small chips can be touched up and then given another coat of clear varnish to seal. Mine usually lasts at least ten days this way - and easily two or three weeks on my toes.

    It's a bu&&er to remove though!

    I found that with some glitter polishes I have, but I bought some extra strong polish remover which does a great job. I moisturise my nails well after I've used it so they don't get too damaged by it, and I don't use it for every manicure.

    I don't bother with the quick dry sprays, I just use Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat. That stuff is amazing. By the time you've got round to your last finger the first one you painted is dry. It even dries if the polish underneath isn't dry yet.

    Does it just dry them to the touch or does it speed up the "hardening" process ? I get so impatient and usually end up with marks/digs/imprints on the nails :mad:

    I got some quick dry oil (on Revlon and one Sally Hansen) from Poundland...
    I found OPI depending on colour too, China Glaze colours look good but chips quite quickly, nails inc I only have the free ones from the magazines :D , not impressed with no7 but for £1.50 with voucher is ok, the N.Y.C. from superdrug were a nice surprise...

    Thanks for this. I bought some NYC colours in the US a while ago and really like them, so it's good to know I can get them over here as well.

    My sister is a nail polish junkie and her nails always look immaculate. She has used OPI for years, but recently tried Leighton Denny from QVC and is now a great fan. He has some lovely colours and a good range of nail and hand care too. His sets would make a lovely gift (for me !)

    Do you get the Seche Vite from QVC as well ? I like the sound of it and would like to try it.

    Fragrancedirect.co.uk have the NYC varnishes as well, for the bargain price of 50p. They don't always have a huge range in stock but they've got the glossies range in at the moment. I've had loads of nail varnish bargains from fragrancedirect.
