Is anyone tempted by the 5 for £14 Nails Inc Lucky Dip offer this Friday as mentioned in the e-mail? I am, but knowing my luck I'd get all oranges or yellows or something equally not my taste! ;)

It also doesn't say if they're full 10ml bottles or not...

I am VERY VERY tempted by the Nails Inc offer! I got it last time they had a pick and mix offer and was really happy with the colours. Last time it was four random colours and either a base or top coat. They were all full size bottles so assume they are this time too. I think I was lucky with my colours cos on the Nails Inc Facebook group a lot of people were saying they weren't impressed with what they'd received. Obviously they are not going to be the latest colours but I got 'Bristol' which is a lovely nude kind of colour (very 'in' at the moment!!), a gorgeous metallic red (Aspen), pink (Maple Street), black (London nights) and caviar top coat.

I'm trying not to buy any more Nails Inc for now as I've got plenty to be getting on with. I think I'm addicted!!! So I don't think I'll be going for the offer this week. Also because I probably won't be that lucky second time round! It is a really good offer though. If you decide to go for it, good luck with your colours!!!
  • TK Maxx had some Nails Inc colours in - I grabbed a set of 3 for £11. There were 2 colour choices as well, but I restrained myself (just!)

I gave in, ordered two sets... :o Really hoping I get that gorgeous metallic blue shown on the offer page!

  • can i ask peoples' opinions on both top and base coats?
at the moment i am using sally hanson diamond shine which is ok, also used a rimmel one, again so so results. have heard mixed reviews about OPI seche vite, downsides seem to be shinkage and very thick to apply. the other likely candidate is nails inc's kensington caviar. any ideas on others? same with base coats, want something that will stop staining etc. am happy to pay a bit more for a really decent result but want to try and make sure i make a good choice.

on a separate note just bought barry m "dusky mauve" and it is a stunning colour. greyish/brown with a lilac pearlness to it (carp description i know) apparently it is identical to very pricey channel varnish :D

I've bought that on a whim but it's not arrived yet, so I'm pleased to hear you like it. I got the instant effects top coat for my sister at the same time, she's a bit more experimental than I am !

I have a really pretty blue with lilac and silver undertones atm. Does anyone know of one similar - this one actually isn't mine as I had em painted for me.

My two Lucky Dip Nails Inc sets arrived today! Got two identical sets, comprising:

    A+E basecoat
    All Saints Road (bright blue)
    Palace Mews (lilac)
    Chapel Market (red glitter)
Embankment (description is 'hot pink', but looks more dark pinky red in the bottle)

Bit disappointed, I suppose, two different sets would have been nice, and I'm not sure I'll use the bright blue. The lilac is OK, and I'm hoping embankment will look nice on. Will have to see about the red glitter! Some people on the grabbit thread seem to have had mixes I'd have prefered but oh well...

On a more positive note, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip top coat is officially ace :)

I'm using Nails Inc base and top coats at the mo. They are both good. I've used OPI (that caused shrinkage) and Seche Vite (which I enjoyed using, gave good results but went gloopy about half way down the bottle so I ended up chucking half of it away).

OPI released a colour similar to this called Done out in Deco - part of the South Beach collection. Not sure if it's still available though.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I use a protein product as a base coat so I'm not an expert on these, but I believe the Orly Bonder rubberised base coat is really good. It's Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip top coat all the way for me. Jesthar's a fan as well. Reasonably priced, dries superfast (even if the varnish underneath is not dry) and gives a great shine.
