Incidentally, where are peoples favourite places to buy stuff at a good price? :) My varnish collection is rather minimal... :o

I like the ELF nail polish, it's a very good price at £1.00 - £1.50

    and it lasts well too

  • How does everyone store their nail varnishes? I have quite a few and do my own acrylics so have all the stuff for that too and think I need a better system them 2 small overflowing storage boxes!

I bought Bling Tones in the browny colour and I'm not too impressed. It was difficult to put on as the top is too big to hold, and it isn't as shiny as I thought it would be. It's a nice colour, but I don't think it's any better than the Rimmel I usually use.

A few other people have recommended Rimmel, I must have a look at them next time I'm in Boots. (:eek:)

You might be better to go to Superdrug, as they're on offer there! They're also 3for2 at the co-op pharmacy. Or as Asda sell them you could sneak some into your trolley and claim it's a necessary part of your household budget.

The "60 seconds" fast drying ones can be awkward to apply. But some of the "lycra pro" come with a maxi brush and they are the easiest thing ever.

I discovered some "Revlon No Smudge Dry Oil" in the poundshop! It was £1. It's really good and definitely worth the money.

They also had the rest of some nail care system - this is tep 4, and I can't remember what the others were but it was things like cuticle remover. Looking at the Revlon site they seem to be changing the bottle shape, so maybe that's why the poundshop had them.
I had a look for that in our Poundland, no joy *sniff*

Will try the Sally Hansen top coat, I think, I should be able to get into town next Monday or Tuesday. :D Need to get some more tip guides, too...

Currently not wearing any varnish since removing the french polish on Sunday (followed Collette's removal process, and it worked like a dream!), but no breakages or splits yet, and they don't seem dry either :T

Think I'll stratch the Bling tones from the potentials list if they're that fiddly, but I do want some more colours and some pastel tone sparkly/glittery ones, I think... Man, this could get expensive! :rotfl:

I did have one MSE unexpected bonus, though - I was rooting around for something in old boxes, and stumbled across an old Christmas present I'd forgotten about - a manicure set! Nice timing on it turning up BEFORE I bought any tools!
Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek... ;)

Thanks for this, very helpful. I'm free tomorrow so I might pop into town !

That's Nails Inc isn't it Gilly, not OPI? (Oh dear, how sad am I? I shouldn't know that.)

Ha so it is I got OPI Conga Line Coral delivered at the same time. I'm losing it.
