i DID buy a no7 polish this week(£5 voucher so good excuse) is a speed dry one called beanie..bit darker than my beloved, but crappy staying power, jermyn street. been on 3 days and still looking half decent..
Valm.. i often wonder wether the free nails inc polishes are different quality to their "propper" ones, as had several different freebies and the quality is rubbish, yet loads of people rave about nails inc.

has anyone used the opi start to finish base/top coat, which other top and base coats do people swear by? I often wonder if a decent base/top coat can help any polish stay better.. also do people give their nails another coat of top coat after a couple of days?

I've had Jermyn Street on for a week now and not a single chip in sight. Interestingly, this bottle of Jermyn Street I'm using now was a freebie but I can't see any difference from my previous bottle (which wasn't a freebie). I really don't think there's any difference between the bought ones and the freebies. Honestly, I think it's all down to technique, how well you prepare your nails before you paint them (they need to be scrupulously clean), whether you use a decent bottom & top coat etc.

I use Nailtiques Formula 2 as my base coat and the Sally Hansen one I mentioned above as a top coat. I do apply an extra top coat after 2-3 days, definitely makes it last longer.

I've had the Zoya matt black on now for 8 days and it is still perfect. Most impressive and I'll certainly be buying more of this brand.

I do have gel overlays at the moment which helps a lot but it isn't even showing any wear at the ends which I would be expecting by now as I'm naughty and do a lot of typing with my nails.:o

I have Creatives Stickey as the base coat and I have reapplied the top coat once as they were going a bit dull - only No7 though.

Just bought a new polish today from Superdrug the range was called 'Famous 32', not sure if this is a new range or what. Anyway bought 'tempting taupe' and it seems to look very much like the Jermyn Street in the photo on this thread.

Anyway, so far so good going on and it is great coverage. At £4.50 it was a great price too :)

    Any chance of a pic?

A fast drying top coat is a must. Sally Hansen Insta Dri Anti Chip top coat is excellent and relatively cheap. I believe the Nails Inc one is very good as well, called 45 second top coat or something. Seche Vite is supposed to be the best of all, though I've not got round to trying it yet.

I use the Nails Inc caviar one and it's fab. I tried the Seche Vite but it went really gloopy about half way down the bottle.

My new OPI lacquers arrived yesterday. Am wearing my fave OPI Espresso Your Style.

    Good morning ladies,

This thread has cost me a fortune already within 2 weeks. I bought a bottle of the Orly rubberised Bonder after reading a post. It's great and I've now had to buy one for my sis - so that's £12 all told from EBay.

Then I loved the LD Supermodel colour that one of you modelled so well - another 11 quid.

Now, I'm planning to pop into Boots tomorrow and have a gander at the Rimmel polishes which a couple of you have praised !

I'm in two minds whether to un-subscribe from this thread ! ;);)

Oh, and don't get me started about the embroidery stuff I've been "forced" to buy since I discovered the Cross Stitch Cafe thread

So far I've managed to keep away from the Green Fingers thread but I know I won't be able to resist the suggestions for bulbs, plants etc once Spring arrives :D

At this rate I'll be needing advice from the Bankruptcy thread !

If any of you have a spare Boots £5 No7 voucher, I highly rate Night Silver Stay Perfect. It's a lovely deep colour and it's nicely shiny. Have only just put it on so don't know if it stays put, though.

I wore Collection 2000 Hot Looks in "bongo beat" (which is a green) the other day and got loads of compliments :) My sister's cat bought it me for my birthday.

You will not be disappointed Linda. It is lush.

I'm part of the Not Buying Toiletries Challenge on MSE (what a laugh that is eh?) and someone on there suggested totting up how much you spend - I've already spent £100.00 in Jan! I'm like you though as they keep recommending stuff that I then go and buy! x

I've also weakened and bought a Pro-Strong kit from QVC :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:but in defence it's the only beauty range I buy from there now.:A
