Yep, I did posh it up a bit (can't be bothered going to find it but if anyone has it to hand then put it up will you?). Really will try for a longer ignore now but you are such an easy target. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

By "posh it up a bit", you meant "utterly fabricated" yes. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Like I said, the funniest thing about your jackanory efforts is that I know that you know that I know. ;)

Just that I've seen enough people complaining about people profiteering from the property market and when you delve into their history a bit you find that they have done very nicely out of it too. Seeing as you are both retired and well educated I am guessing that you have been in the market at some time - did you make a profit (and if you did did you feel it was somehow "dirty" money)?

No criticism intended either way - many of us who are LLs feel that we took a bit of a gamble with our money, worked quite hard at our profession (albeit part time) and if they are prepared to do that then who should criticise them?

For the sake of closure, did you make money on the property market?

Just to emphasise the perception of "easy money" and getting "something for nothing", eh?!

Not really with you on this. I do my normal job, as you do, and then do some more work on my property. I take a chance and invest some more of my capital in housing, unlike you by the sounds of it. My gamble and extra work pays off - not really "something for nothing". Something for nothing is buying a house to live in and living in it and 25 years later finding its worth six times what you paid for it - there are a lot more of those around than there are of my type.

I just hope for the sake of those who rent off you that you're not one of the scummy ones. :)

I hope you hope it for my sake too. :) Incidentally, I have met many more scummy tenants than I have scummy landlords (although, to be fair, I don't know too many landlords).

I do love the way that the "profits" you made in previous sales magically managed to avoid becoming the "investements" you pushed into your 3 most recent property aquisitions.

Your accountant is clearly a miracle worker.

I'm just sympathetic to tenants who have to put up with wideboy landlords who are just looking for the easiest way to make the most money in life irrespective of people like tenants who are simply trying to live their lives.
