Door to Door Salesmen on Xmas Day

Round the inlaws for Christmas - at approx 11:30am the doorbell went. Looked out of the window and saw two smartly dressed men - assumed it was the police so opened the door.
It was not the police - it was two door to door salesman trying to flog us Talk-Talk phones. Needless to say we did not listen to their spiel because the father in law told them where to go (I have never heard him swear before) and slammed the door - he was then seething for most of the evening. Took him most of Xmas day to calm down - he has phoned talk talk to complain about this intrusion but it appears the people who sell their tat are nothing to do with them.
Anyone else get door to door salesman on Christmas day?

nope.. those two blokes must be really dull to having nothing to do on Xmas day, other than sell crappy contracts! lolThere's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

In the spirit of Xmas your father in law should have mimed the swear words in a charades type of way...0

Ha! Found that pretty funny lol:rotfl:0 -
Poor guys. Going round people's houses watching everyone have a lovely Christmas Day together, while they're stuck out in the cold, doing something they'll never manage. Quite sad really.
Or, more likely, they were doing something dodgySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
All those two poor blokes were doing was to try and :money:make a living. There is no need to swear at them.0

No salesman, but Christmas morning I did get a hand delivered Christmas card from the local Conservative candidate. Lucky or what???!!!! lol...0

It's pretty dire, but I don't know why you'd spend all evening seething about it. Say 'no thank you', close the door, and that's it. It's not the best day to be knocking on people's doors, but does spending 60 seconds answering the door on Xmas day actually ruin Christmas?0

To be honest, it was probably a good sales tactic.
How many people would expect a door to door salesman on Christmas day and ignore the doorbell? Probably not too many.
Most people would either be expecting friends or family to be calling, or might think it would be a neighbour wishing them happy Christmas.
On a similar note, I received a Jehovah's witness Advent calendar this year.
It had 24 little doors, and behind each one was a bloke telling me to pi** off.0 -
No need to swear at them, just tell them that you aren't interested.
It really is that simple! If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
