Door to Door Salesmen on Xmas Day

  • Not EVERYONE in the world is religious - so why can't you be tolerant to those that don't celebrate YOUR religion?

And surely the same should apply to salespeople and they shouldn't intrude on what is the most important religious day for a large percentage of the UK population.

I'm not a Muslim, but I wouldn't dream of knocking on strangers doors in a heavily Muslim area of the country on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, as I know that this is also a very important day for people of that particular religion, and it is usually spent celebrating with family and friends.
  • It's the actions of a small child who can't get their own way, if you ask me. With knobs on.

And that particular comment doesn't exactly sound like something that an adult would say does it?

Jesus says that we must love our enemies. What does that mean? (Allow them time to answer.) It means that we must treat them as well as we treat people we like. We must be kind and respectful to them. We must not treat them badly. The Bible says “a soft answer turns away wrath.” (Proverbs 15: 1) It is difficult for someone to continue being mean to you if you don’t allow him or her to make you angry. God gave us the Bible to teach us how to live.

Looks like this bit was lost on the OP :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not anyone, just uninvited salespeopple on Christmas Day. We must have standards you know.

At least they work for a living. If they were on benefits, you would be first in line to rave and rant and ask them to get a job.

Christmas Day is for most people in this country one of the most important days of the year. Any company which choses to send its staff out to peoples' homes to knock out a few tuppeny ha'penny contracts needs a good talking to.

They don't actually work for Talk Talk, they work for a company called Skye Marketing & are paid on 100% commission,no base salary so I guess they think that by going out on Crimbo, they're more likely to get folk in.
    They get £40 a sale.

If you say so. I can't answer right now as I am partaking in the sacred act of prepping dinner.

ps....the phrase 'with knobs on' means 'with extras/embellishments'.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

In the spirit of Xmas your father in law should have mimed the swear words in a charades type of way...

That made me laugh out loud!! Do you mean the two fingered salute? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I wouldn't have been bothered about someone knocking at the door to be honest, i think its a bit cheeky though.

All those two poor blokes were doing was to try and :money:make a living. There is no need to swear at them.

Pretty sure you say that exact same thing next time you get a parking ticket or your car is getting towed,
