    Welcome along newbies

Well I got all set up last night and have done my first 2 workouts :A

I've just been going through the different activities and seeing what ones I like, recovering from a 2 week long cold as well so taking it relatively easy. Did about 40 minutes last night on Wii Fit Plus and another 10 odd minutes playing tennis and boxing on Wii Sports. This morning I did a bit of everything - cycling, free step, step basics, super hula hoop and rythm boxing.

I quite like that you can do each activity for a short amount of time, means I don't get bored then. It's just a shame that Wii Fit Plus can't record what you burn on other Wii games as I can see me not bothering to keep updating the activity log.

Going to have a go at some of the muscle exercises later and then try and build my own routines. I've got in a sweat both time and my arms ache like hell so it is obviously doing something :rotfl:

Going for a Thai tonight which is a bit naughty but it is NYE!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I think it's just a case of going through everything and finding out what you like and are good at! I'm utterly carp at the one where you've to flap like a bird and land on a target, and the tightrope walking one; but I'm quite happy to do the kung-fu and obstacle course for ages! Balance games can take a bit of getting used to, but are quite fun once you get the hang of it and are quite "easy" on the body.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like I should set aside an hour or so to go through it and find the stuff I like. I only really did the hula hoop and was hopeless at it so I gave up. The kung fu sounds like fun though.

Finally got the wii fit plus from mr ts after being let down yesterday. Dh has set it up and I have had a go just playing really and trying out the different things, did hoola hoop and step basic a few times and a couple of the yoga stretches and the beginners jogging  think that was a bit ambitious for the first day:rotfl:Managed a total of 30 mins, DH is faffing now with all the other settings so might get a go later on.

Healthy eating is going ok too, day 4 and feeling good.

Anyone going out tonight enjoy yourselves and have a fabulous time.

    Another 25 minutes so total today = 55mins :)

I'd never take another gym membership. The smallprint, tie in periods, blah blah blah... they know how to get your money. I felt robbed by the time I'd finished paying for something that I hardly used :-(

I think some exercise is better than none, so whatever you feel comfortable doing , after all we're not all athletic and personally I hate the gym, find it so boring and intimidating. Although not hugely overweight myself, I would like to lose about half a stone, I know that I am VERY UNFIT as the most exercise I do is a toddler dancing class with my daughter !!

The grandparents bought my son a Wii for xmas with the balance board and wii fit plus etc etc. I particularly liked that you can set a rhythm for the step and then flick the TV back on to watch corrie or whatever while you merrily step on and off the balance board for a set amount of time (I started with 20 mins).

I've merrily exercised away for 30 mins a day for 3 days, then I've come down with a chest infection, as soon as its cleared I'm back on it.

Like the Wii sports and Wii fit plus exercises. We've ordered a second remote off ebay so we can have boxing competitions etc. My OH and I have taken it quite lightheartedly and made sure we've laughed at each other and ourselves, and our uncoordinated efforts so far. It has been great fun and a change from vegging in front of the TV.
  • I had a go on the cycling in training plus yesterday and today and was surprised that it's quite fun! It's also a good way of burning calories and clocking up minutes :)

    Happy New Year all :j

The Tahi last night was awesome! I made myself eat it all and had some naughty cocktails and far too many vodka, lime & lemonades :rotfl:. I justified it by the fact we did almost an hours walking in and out of town!

Did quite a bit today....played tennis, bowling, baseball then did step plus, jogging, hula hooping etc. I think I clocked up about 45 minutes on Wii Fit Plus. I also did the body test again....bad idea, I have apparently gained 1lb  and boy did it give me a telling off! I can't see that it's right unless it's post xmas catch up so I will plug away for now.

Think I will need to get some new games soon or I am in danger of getting bored!
