Losing weight - Gym V Wii

Well done La-Cara on doing some wii-ing (that sounds slightly wrong!), burning any calories is better than burning none!
I went and picked my Wii up this afternoon :T. I have excitedly got it out of the box and read the Wii Fit Plus manual but have also decided to let my OH set it up for me, I did offer to cook in return.
Spent lots of money in Tesco last night on healthy food, lots of fruit - mango, melon, apples, grapes etc. Also got some bio youghurt and have been adding bits of muesli to it, yum!
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Hi all!
Can I join in? I got a wii and wii fit for christmas and have been doing it every day sinceReally felt it on my second day so it must be working! I am within my ideal weight but I would like to be a little slimmer and tone up. I'd also love to feel like I can pig out now and then without really putting on weight, or if I do put on a bit of weight it would be nice to be able to just lose it easily. Over the past few years whenever I put on weight it just stays there because I don't do anything to lose it!
I'd really like to know how much of the different activity types everyone does each day? I have been doing 3-4 yoga, 3-4 muscle exercises, 1 or 2 aerobic, 1 or 2 balance and the rest of the hour on training plus.. Is this about right, or should I be doing more of the other stuff? Don't really feel like I'm exercising on the training plus because the games are fun - I'm quite addicted to the snowball fight at the moment!0 -

I bought my Wii and balance board and games nearly a year ago - yep new years resolution, and I've only used it about 3 times. Its sitting under my tv right now making me feel guilty for being lazy AND for wasting all that money!
So I'd like to join in. I dont really know what my problem is with it...I think i just dont really do the right games on it. What games do you all do? and for how long?
I need to lose about 4st ideally but i'd be very happy with 2st.0 -

Generally I like to do a mix of everything, but really not keen on muscle and yoga sections so don't tend to bother with them.
I think the important thing with wii fit is that you're doing more exercise than you would sitting watching tv or whatever! And I guess the point is that it's fun and doesn't feel like you're doing exercise because that can be quite off-putting in itself.0 -

Hi everyone
Can I join in too please? I haven't used my Wii Fit for around 4 months and really need to get back into it. I've got EA Sports Active on order and hopefully it'll be here early next week. I really liked the Wii Fit Game (still do) but after reading some reviews I decided to give this a go... people say you get a lot more out of Sports Active and it pushes you further :T
My OH is bringing the Wii downstairs tomorrow and I'll start with some yoga and hula hoop. I love the boxing and juggling games too though, hopefully this will ease me back into it for when my new game arrives
I'd like to lose 1 stone and tone up, I know I can do it because I've done it before using the Wii... it's just my will power to keep goingEven if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
Hi there would love to join in too, my boyfriend bought me the wii fit + and balance board for xmas. Used to go to the gym a lot but don't seem to be able to find time. Would love to tone up and get back to being fit again. Hope I can join in too in a couple of weeks, have the flu atm lol had it all over xmas now left with a terrible cough then a few days ago pulled a muscle in my side picking up a bag of firewood.
So as soon as I am back in full health lol I'd love to join in. Been having a little go on the wii but supposed to be resting lol so frustrating!!!!0 -
So glad I found this thread as I was wondering about a wii fit too - DH bought us a wii for xmas! I need to get healthy and lose 10lbs, but DH desperately wants to lose weight as he is nearly 21st. He is very bad at pushing himself into dieting and exercise, but he is terribly competitive so hopefully we can get a little challenge going and spur him on!0
