Losing weight - Gym V Wii

I really like the wii and as it's just there in your house you can do it whenever you fancy instead of having to go to the effort of going to the gym, plus with the gym I find the hardest thing is to motivate myself to actually get there, when i'm there I'm fine, so wit the wii there's no excuses
You can even set it on the running mode for a period of time then watch your tv and it tells you when the time is up"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."0 -
My wii fit balance board is dodgy at the moment. The weighing scales are completely inaccurate because it told me the other day that I gained a stone within a day. I got off and redid it to find that I'd actually lost weight. I don't seem to trust mine at all these days but I weigh myself at the gym anyway so It doesn't really matter lol
I'm a gym fanatic now compared to what I used to be and I've lost 4 stone0 -
I have a wii and wii fit
with its help I lost 6 stone .. then I gave up smoking and put 3 back on .. woopsy
this year I'm going to lose that 3 I gained .. so its back on the wii, I love it .. you can go at your own pace and do whatever your in the mood for, wether its 'proper' exercise or fooling around dancing .. anything that brings on a sweat works
it is true what they say tho .. eat less move more .. it works
good luck everyone ..
oh and don't rely on the scales off the wii, my friend got on mine and lost 12 stone plus and ended up in negative figures :rotfl:A heap big thank you to everyone who posts the comps, your all stars!
Proud to of never used or felt the need to use a chain of any sorts on a puppy0 -
:rotfl: Well now you know you aren't alone!
I have already taken the plunge and just ordered a black Wii with Wii fit plus and the balance board, it was £180 from Tesco which is the cheapest I could find! I will be able to collect it from my local store on Wednesday.
Have been reading game reviews and looks like the biggest loser one is good.
Once I am all up and running I am really up for a Wii weight loss thread if others are?
Jody
SNAP!!! I pick mine up from Tesco on Wednesday too, I have bought it for exactly the same reason. So if I may I will join you all with this one and hope to last beyond January lol I also have 2.5 stone to lose:eek:0 -
I started loosing weight a year ago, in the January I got up an hour earlier and did 30 mins 3x a week on the wii, mainly the yoga but other bits as well, I also followed ww diet, didn't go to the classes but counted points, by May I had lost almost 2 stone and then it stuck, by this time I was on the wii almost every morning,by the summer I wasn't sticking to it as rigidly but have only put 6lb back on, so I would agree that it works and I am going to get back into it after Christmas.
The Biggest loser one is also very good, it helps to have the balance board to get weighed on it but to do the exercise routines I just put the control in my pocket - its a lot tougher than wii fit.0 -
I am thinking of buying a wii fit to use aswell as the gym; for the days i don't manage to get to the gym! Do you lot think that's a good idea? I'm just pondering over spending the money in the first place.MFW 2025 #50: £1139.75/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00

Skintbint I will join you with the 7lb weight loss target for January. I am picking up my wii fit on Thursday morning so will start the exercise then, but have already started my healthy eating plan (ww ordinary points) today. I think I will choose Mondays for my weigh in, I have to lose 2.5stone to get back to my target weight so think I will be here for the long haul. I know I can do this, I lost 5.5 stone a few years ago and became a ww gold member and kept it off for 3 years then the menopause helped me gain weight
nothing to do with me being greedy of course lol. Fridge is now full of healthy food so no excuses!!!

flourgirl, wow 5.5 stone! and Kaelea 6 stone thats amazing i would like to loose about the 2.5 too so feel that 7lb is realistic - am thinking about WW next week as i notice there is voucher for free membership on their website however last time i was there they told me i should be 9st - i got down to 11st 5 a couple of years ago and that meant a size 10 so i dread to think whatsize i'd be if i was that low or how haggard i'd look so i'll be happy to get down to the 11 stone then i'll see how i feel. but the first target is to get rid of the 13 at the start!skintbint x
