when my tv eventually comes next week, can i plug the wireless hub into the tv as they sit directly next to each other.

I have an ethernet cable running from my BT Homehub into my telly and it works fine :)

Sorry to doubt you - but are you absolutely 100% sure? I was led to believe (after reading a review on Amazon) that you needed a Sony dongle.

It's great if that's not the case - as I have just taken delivery of a 40" Sony today!

look at this about connecting your tv via a rj45 cable and not the expensive £70 dongle

The TV has now gone back up to £699. It is still selling at Amazon and Comet for £400.

Will JL price match Comet or will they get out of it by saying they're giving a 5-year warranty?

    Should I ring them?
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Worth ringing then. What's the worst that can happen? They can say 'no'. Definitely worth calling them, I would say.

If you go to your account on the john lewis website you can print out your order confirmation and keep that.

The john lewis website keeps all your purchases anyway so there should always be a record but you could print it for peace of mind.

For anyone who is planning on hooking up an external hard drive to their TV via the USB to play movies etc, the following deal from HDUK is about as good as it's likely to get at the moment for 500GB of portable storage. :)

I didn't need to plug a box into it so not sure about that one, other things plugged in work fine.

Yes all you need to do is plug in the yellow ethernet cable for the i-player etc to work
