I wanted to be out of the house today so went into town. Spent some of my book tokens I got for xmas. Had a little look at the sales but Im of the mind if I dont need it I wont buy it. I did have a good walk though and felt better for it.

I really do need to lose weight. Have ate too much rubbish and my body is telling me. So think I will join the Facebook group.

Was awake during the night with noise from the pubs/clubs on the main street. Seems a lot of people go out New Years Day now. Then at 2am when the cat wanted out people were fighting at the top of the street. Just shut the door and went back to bed. Im so glad I do not go out drinking now here as there is often trouble.

Not much flying done just S&Sed the kitchen and bathroom.

    Soapie Hugs.
poohbear Hope you get your water on soon.
    skylight. Thank you for sharing.
Toots Hope you are feeling better.

Hugs and spoons for those that need them. Specially Toots. Lady L. Diva and LW.

Met a friend on the way to the bottle bank, so walked with her and her kids for a bit which extended my walk. Bins emptied into wheelie, half the glass to the bottle bank, kindling and log baskets refilled.

Need to dry the bedding and wash the bedroom floor (and possibly window frame if it isn't too dark.). Fingers crossed for decent weather tomorrow, then hopefully I'll get some more stuff done in the house, and another decent walk. Just need to make sure my ipod is fully charged so I can go for a run (it's ancient, and isn't holding its charge well at the moment, or switching off properly which doesn't help either). Won't be doing as well as fedup, but want to try to get a regular 2km run in on every work day to break the day up and hopefully I can gradually build in some longer runs as I get fitter again.

I bought some very reduced onion sets and garlic at the start of December then of course the ground has been frozen solid or covered in snow since. Nothing to lose from trying to put them in today btu I suspect the veg plot is a mudbath.

Depends a bit on how many you've got, but I often pot mine up and leave them in the unheated greenhouse if the ground isn't suitable for planting. I use a mixture of multipurpose and soil based compost, or just the soil based, as I have quite heavy soil and they seem to grow away better. I do the same with shallots too.

I had a very enjoyable hour and a half on the allotment this morning, first time for a couple of months. It looked a lot better than I thought it might. I spent the time clearing the weeds and selfsown stuff from the flower border, as this always gets left till last. It's the first bit I see when I arrive at the plot, and I like it to look good.

I came home with parsley, leeks, swiss chard, carrots and parsnips, which we had for lunch. Another roast - chicken today, with left over Christmas pud, and apple cake for DD who doesn't eat dried fruit.

I'm going to spend some quality time with the seed catalogues and plan the crops for the rest of the year.:D Love doing that at this time of year.

Love and hugs, especially to toots, lady-liberty and lamewolf.

pigpen - hope you feel better soon.

Not managed to read all posts yet Skylight just asked to be on facebook group, been following lots of the oldstyle threads for months every day but hardly posted. Thought its about time i stopped lurking and started joining in. So belated happy new year. Today tree came down and had a general tidy and dust, still got to vac and mop but so far so good. It seemed so dark in conservatory with tree down, i have moved a tall light i had from living room in there. I thought i had another little lamp but i can't find it anywhere, the tall light was used when i was knitting so need to find a replacement quick. Hugs to all who need them.

I've really enjoyed this holiday (not a single cross word between us  ) but will be glad to get back into a routine, and get back to exercising properly :o

DH had a hatchet for Christmas, so we've been out making kindling. Any chance we can have "tidy and sweep your woodshed" on this week's list, as I've done mine already :rotfl:

I've made Cornish Pasties for supper, and DH is about to lay a fire and open a bottle of wine
